Breakfast and staff are great, rooms are poor

The pub itself and the breakfast were great but the room i had smelled damp and needed some love! The bed was very old with person shape dents in the mattress The owner came out immediately to fix a light but as he couldn't reassure me that the other rooms were any better I left after one night of no sleep.

The pub on the ground floor was very good. The breakfast was freshly cooked and was excellent. The evening meal was good but spoilt by the plates being cold. I dont understand why kitchens can not serve food on hot plates so that you dont have to rush before it gets cold. The carpet up to our first floor room was disgusting. Full of holes and very worn. I paid for a deluxe room but it was pretty old fashioned (although the size was good and the TV was large). The bathroom was fine but the bath needs a mat to prevent you slipping when you using the shower. I suppose you get what you pay for, but I dont think this hotal is 4 star.

We had a pleasant two nights at The Kings Arms Inn, which is situated in a charming medieval village on the outskirts of Yeovil. The Inn is nicely medieval too with plenty of character. The room was very clean but we were disappointed that the room wasn't larger, as we understood it was bigger than the room we had last year, when we brought our dog. The Inn lets itself down with lack of maintenance in various areas; the carpet up to our room was heavily stained and the window covering was coming off and needed replacing. The staff were very friendly and served us promptly and efficiently. All meals were very good.

Lovely rooms and lovely couple running the place

The village is delightful and has a fascinating history well worth the visit. The hotel is full of character but is in need of a good deal of work if it is going to cater for tourists otherwise it will fall into disrepair and not be worth considering. Carpets need replacing, rooms need a thorough cleaning, woodwork, like doors and windows, are in need of attention & holes in the walls should be addressed. The lovely lady serving breakfast was welcoming and friendly and breakfast provided a great start to the day. We also had dinner there one night and the servings were generous. I understand that with old buildings it costs a lot to maintain but if left as it is I would not be returning to stay.

This is my go to place when I’m in the area with work. It’s more homely than national brands, and the staff make the place! The food is good and the great beer on tap, as well as a selection of other tasty drinks. They don’t have air-con and the floorboards can squeak, the parking can be a challenge, especially when busy. Depending on what room you could hear the noise of other guests or the workings of the hotel, but they are clean. Breakfast is late for lots of places as it starts at 7.30, which is fine if you’re local and don’t have to be in early. The breakfast menu items have changed recently & aren’t reflected on the paper version, like mini croissants and pastries. In my opinion this detracts slightly and can make it a challenge for those in a rush.

My wife and I stayed just one night at the Kings Arms and had an excellent meal and breakfast. Our room was clean and tidy and the en-suite was fine, albeit a little cramped. We had ground floor room 5 and, as is our normal custom, went to bed just before 10:00pm. We then suffered a great deal of noise outside our bedroom windows; singing, shouting and swearing, all coming from the sheltered area just a few metres away. In the end we rang the bar in an attempt to get this stopped, but it carried on until midnight! Such a shame as everything else about the inn was excellent. If you do book a room for an upstairs room at the front of the premises!

Had a lovely overnight stay at this pub,staff were very helpful, room was clean and tidy,would definitely stay again,nearly forgot a lovely vegan breakfast was included in the great price.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome! The room is cozy, water is hot, food was delicious and drinks were yummy! Every breakfast was amazing! I really enjoyed Tony and Sondra’s company, from breakfast to nightcaps, Kings Arms was wonderful!

Understand that this was one of the cheaper options within the area and only stayed for a night. Friendly staff and dinner was of a good quality with plenty of options, good level of pub food. Found the room outdated, noisy and the bathroom extremely cold with a strange smell that was unpleasant. Bed was a little uncomfortable and hot, didn't get a good night's sleep unfortunately and would recommend ear plugs and an eye mask.

Härligt ställe, gemytligt o enkelt men väldigt charmigt. Bra personal, frukost väldigt bra. Omgivningen var magisk, hit åker vi även nästa gång.

A lovely place to stay. The staff were very helpful throughout. We hosted a large family gathering for lunch and stayed over. We were accommodated in the evening with light food which was not normally available in the evening. Breakfast was very good. Parking is good but limited space.
