Spotlessly clean and well furnished accommodation, punching way above its weight as a guest house. Room (#5) was very comfortable, with tasteful furnishings/fittings and well thought out use of space. Nice balcony (with a couple of chairs and a small table) overlooking the seafront. Jo and Buzz were gracious hosts and could not have been more helpful during our stay. Breakfast excellent - eggs benedict especially recommended. Free parking either on street, or in nearby car park. Thorpe Bay is a great location. 1.3 miles from Southend pier, so is close (but not too close!) to the town centre. Frequent buses run along the front in a loop between Leigh and Shoeburyness. We chose Beaches based on its positive reviews and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff who run the property are very welcoming and happy to help. The property itself is in top class condition and trumps any hotel room. Another highlight is the breakfast, which was included in my rate, which include tea or cafetière coffee, a fruit platter, cereals and a cooked breakfast (e.g. salmon and scrambled eggs on granary bread) with many options available. I would highly recommend a stay here and will come again if I am ever back in Southend.

Excellent hosts. Very thoughtful and go out of their ways to accommodate. Just mentioned to them about my daughter's birthday and they had a happy birthday banner in her room. Excellent breakfast!

Very welcoming, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean throughout the guest house, everyone was very polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was absolutely gorgeously dressed and immaculately clean, with a fan, drinks tray with biscuits and toiletries all ready for us to use. Breakfast was simply amazing. Would highly recommend a stay here to enjoy the sights and sounds of Southend on Sea. X

It is cozy and very comfortable place. The host are very friendly and have great hospitality. Face to Thames Estuary and so quiet and relaxed.

Excellent stay and good options on Breakfast all be it not a full english but the Eggs Benedict was excellent & Service was very good. Very comfortable room, quiet where we were and free car park behind almost. Well equipped bathroom. Great choice of 'Extra' drinks you can pay for and cheaper that a Pub. Only minor comment would be that our shower wasn't very powerful.

This place is amazing! Absolutely beautifully maintained, recently updated, spotlessly clean and very stylish. The lovely couple who run it couldn't have been any more helpful. The only one suggestion would be a USB port/type C in the room. The breakfast was very plentiful and delicious with lots of choice. We will be back!
