Spa and facilities were very nice, spacious steam and sauna etc. Breakfast was good. The room we stayed in ( annexe) was tired looking and basic, no walk in shower and the extractor fan didn’t work. Walls very thin and could hear the conversations of people in next room. Bed sheets looked clean but then discovered some stains on them . So we used other bed sheets. After staying in other parts of this hotel previously we were disappointed with the rooms in the annexe part

After several tries at finding a decent hotel around York I have finally found exactly what I needed. The Parsonage is great, nice spa, lovely people, nice room. No complaints at all.

Enjoyed the stay but it was noisy trying to get to sleep in the cottage room and I’m curious as to why there were only 9 loungers in the spa but there are 60 bedrooms ? I had to sit on a chair .. not really the spa experience I was looking for. Also another gripe of mine is no full length mirrors in bedrooms ? And no table near a mirror to sit and dry hair and do makeup ? It’s the little things that make all the difference.

Friendly and helpful staff. Helpful to make special arrangements and supportive of our requirements. Comfortable surroundings, quiet and aesthetic facility. Additional spa, good pool and gym. Plenty of parking and perfect location for special occasions.

We had an amazing time at this place. Staff were really friendly, delicious breakfast and afternoon tea, great spa facilities, and the treatments were amazing. Highly recommended. Only minor issue was only one channel would work on the TV due to signal issues. A smart TV would have been good.

Set in stunning grounds I wasn’t sure what to expect from the interior. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The spa is very nice the changing rooms were adequate you need £1 coin for the locker but the pool and treatment rooms were very nice. The sun loungers were a little tired and worn and they are very close to the ground so getting in and off them can be somewhat tricky. Very pleasantly surprised by the food in the restaurant, very good and staff in all areas were friendly and engaging.

Although we had a lovely time there were a few irritations which may have spoiled it for some. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Tv wasn't smart and only had 2 channels, Thus couldn't be fixed. No telephone to connect to outside reception. Had to walk 100 yards over to reception to ask anything.

Attractive hotel, friendly staff, great location

The toilet was dirty in the room upon arrival, heater wasn't efficient. Generally, the whole hotel and spa area was grubby, smelled old. Very dated also.

The staff were excellent and a real credid to the hotel, nothing was too much for them. The room itself was clean and well equipped. I would definitely recomend it and stay again.
