Great hotel ideally located to travel around Cornwall from. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

A thoroughly charming building with beautiful architecture sympathetically converted into a first class Hotel.

Comfortable room. Unique building. However, we specifically asked for a room not used by travellers with dogs, this was confirmed by the hotel yet when we got to our room there was a doggy pack (bowl, towel etc) waiting prominently on the floor. Makes their room confirmation meaningless.

Stunning building, easy parking, great location, and the staff were brilliant. The room was decent but the bed was average, carpets are a bit worn, and a few bits haven't been dusted in a while. There's some mould in the bathroom too - not ideal, but nothing a quick bleach or clean couldn't fix. Two of our three nights had weddings going until midnight - noisy outside but fine in the room. Happy with our stay and would stay again, just needs a bit of attention.

Stayed in a courtyard room which was very spacious, comfortable and a nice powerful shower. Breakfast was of a good standard. Staff were friendly but seemed a little uninterested. However I would recommend this hotel.

What a stunning hotel inside & out. Everywhere was spotless & smelt lovely. It’s so good that it’s dog friendly too. The room was so spacious. The breakfast was great, and the staff were lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

The Alverton is the perfect place to stay for exploring Cornwall and surrounds or for a peaceful get away. The hotel and grounds are lovely - our room was spacious with a sitting area in front of a large window overlooking to courtyard. The restaurant had a great ambience and food was delicious and well presented; relatively small range of choices but fresh and interesting; breakfast was plentiful and al a carte for hot food definitely an advantage. Availability of fresh Sandwiches in the bar after travel was a bonus. The carpet was quite worn in places but other furnishings were beautiful. Definitely the best place to stay in comparison to other offerings in the region

Great hotel. Very impressed by my first time in Cornwall. Lovely setting very near to the city centre. Staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the stay from check-in to departure. Brilliant room. Very clean and well equipped. Really quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was a good choice of items. Loved the poached eggs. Hope to return soon.

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in, helpful and polite staff, calm and peaceful surroundings.

We were up in the courtyard and the rooms were lovely. Spacious enough, comfy beds, great powerful shower. The staff were helpful and polite and breakfast was tasty and made to order. Short stroll into the centre. Would recommend and definitely stay again!

Truro's hidden gem short walk to the cathedral

Every single member of staff that we encountered were friendly and welcoming, an absolute credit to the establishment. A beautiful hotel with plenty of charm & character, within a lovely garden setting. Our room was spacious, clean and well stocked with tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits/toilet roll and the bed was super comfy. The three course lunch was delicious, filling & excellent value as was breakfast the next morning. Plenty of selection in the bar too. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stop and will definitely return in the future.

Good and secure parking, we arrived on motorcycles. Staff very friendly. My room was very clean and comfortable, there was though a small staircase to the bathroom which may not suit some people. The bed was large and comfortable. Due to the shape of the old building, access to my room was up and down sets of stairs and through numerous doors which could be an issue for old or infirm persons. No porters available to take bags. Carpet in the dining room was worn creating bumps that could become a trip hazard to some.

Wonderful hotel within a few minutes walking distance of the centre of Truro. Everything is done just right - a real home from home.
