Room was cleaned everyday, however front doors to room only locked from inside. There were gaps in the doors that allowed mosquitos to get in. Let us check in early but we did ask for above ground level if possible and were put on the ground level. Overall close to everything. Could use some Reno’s. Loud area at night with the doors having gaps especially.

Staff very helpful, knowledgeable about the area. Room pleasant and clean. Grounds well kept, and pool clean and refreshing. Charming exterior with arches covered in bougainvillea. I would have only 2 suggestions- install a small chest of drawers in the rooms for longer stays, and a shade sail for mid-day over the pool.

An architecturally beautiful hotel with stunning wood carving adornments. Located at the centre of walkable Tamarindo. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The pool was perfect. In-room safe was convenient. The laundry service is contracted out and charged by the kg. On the downside, you don't get to weigh it so there is no cost transparency, just a bill when it comes back -- ours cost 3 times more than quoted and much more than one would expect. The common area poolside kitchen amenities need attention but otherwise this is an excellent hotel.

I was very pleased with everything about this hotel. All of the staff were so helpful, knowledgeable and available. The location was PERFECT. I especially enjoyed my very comfy bed and the beautifully maintained landscaping and common area by the pool. There was a bit of confusion on how transportation from the airport to the hotel had been arranged. Edwin was professional and patient with me explaining the process in detail and clearing up my confusion. Overall, this place was AMAZING! PURA VIDA!!!!!

Very comfortable hotel with excellent pool area and parking, just across the road from the beach and right at the heart of the bars, restaurants and shops. Fantastic value for money.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great location to walk everywhere in Tamarindo. Right across from the beach and coffee and can have breakfast on the beach. Pool area is nice to relax and sit outside. Great outdoor kitchen to use, we would definitely go back. Wonderful time, thank you!

The premium room is not premium. Very noisy and could hear kids fighting next door. Ceiling fan was so noisy we could t use it. But it is in a good location if you want to be in the thick of things.

The location was perfect. A short walk to all of the shops, restaurants, and the beach.

Gute Preis-Leistung. Allerdings nicht geeignet, wenn man es ruhig haben möchte. Das Hotel ist quasi im Hotspot der Ausgehviertels und entsprechend v.a. am Wochenende sehr laut.

Si vous cherchez un hôtel proche de toutes les activités (restaurants, commerces, boîte de nuit), avec une super piscine c'est un 5 étoiles. Si vous cherchez un hôtel calme, confortable c'est 1 étoile. J'ai donc noté 3 car mon expérience n'a pas été très bonne. Les matelas sont HS, tellement en mauvais état que le lit penche Les portes de salle de bains sont rouillées et moisies. Et personnellement ce que je demande d'un hôtel c'est d'avoir une literie confortable et une chambre et une salle de bain en bon état. Le comble a été le jour où je me suis fait engueuler car j'étais stationné sur le parking... Même avec le port du bracelet de l'hôtel et le fait que j'y ai séjourné plusieurs jours, il ne m'avait pas reconnu comme client.... Sympa.... Je ne reviendrai pas dans cet hôtel

Great location, room was always clean. Most comfortable bed of our entire holiday. Pool area is very nice. Older hotel and the street noise can be a bit much but was much quieter after Saturday. Very friendly staff and their dogs. Would stay here again.

Old building and it was loud from the street noise but very central.

The room we were assigned to didn't meet our expectations so we asked if there was another room they can move us to and the answer was no. We were scheduled to stay for 4 nights and didn't feel we would be able to relax and enjoy our time. So we spent the first night looking for another hotel in the area and moved to it the next day. Also during the first night I had an accident and fell on the sidewalk near the hotel and Hotel MarRey didn't have any first aid available, told me to just wash my injured hand with soap and didn't seem to much care of the pain I was in.
