El Misti is wonderful hostel with great staff and amazing activities to do! The staff is wonderful, friendly and super accommodating! The hostel is really close to the beach and to great dining and shopping places. The bar’s staff and drinks are also amazing! Thank you!

Staff very nice ! Had a wonderful stay and a lot of new friends would go back for sure in carnaval !!!!

The property is in a great location. One block away from the beach. It was really safe. I was a solo traveller and walked around comfortably. The rooms were super clean and well taken care of. There are a lot restaurants, shops, and places for nightlife around the area. It was so easy to meet new people and the hostel has so many activities and also tours that you can book directly from them. The check-in process was super easy and there is a WhatsApp group to keep up to date with activities or get into contact with other travellers staying there. The real MVP here are the staff and volunteers that work very hard, are super outgoing and friendly, and that make sure you’re well taken care of. I found my home away from home. Shout out to Marcela, Rodrigo, Eduardo, Cristal, Eric, Juanjo, Cristal, Jordana, Tiago, Gabriel, Maude, Laura, Youss, and everyone else on the team. You guys have an amazing team. I hope that when I visit again, you’re all still there. I will always welcome seeing your friendly faces.

This was my first experience staying at a hostel and I would choose this hostel again for the location and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. All the staff are very helpful and great at their job. There are so many activities planned by the hostel and if you wish not to do any, staff are more than willing to provide suggestions. The WhatsApp group was super helpful to keep up with activities. The room had everything I needed and it was so close to so many shops and the beach. I would recommend staying at El Misti especially if you’re a solo travel.

What makes it stand out is the staff and how they try to have everyone be engaged, they have multiple events a day and is very sociable! The location is also great as it’s a 3 minute walk to Ipanema beach!

A estadia foi maravilhosa, toda a equipe de funcionarios são muito prestativos e receptivos, além da limpeza do quarto ser feita varias vezes ao dia.

I had a great stay at El Misti Hostel Ipanema. The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to the beach, with plenty of places nearby to rent chairs, grab food, have drinks, or shop. The hostel itself has security at all times, which made me feel safe during my stay. It also has a very social atmosphere, so it’s super easy to meet new people. One thing that really stood out was how clean everything was. The cleaners come in twice a day to tidy the rooms and bathrooms, so the space is always fresh and well maintained. The reception staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it can get quite loud late at night since the street outside stays busy, and the windows are a bit thin—so definitely bring earplugs. It’s also a bit more expensive than some other hostels, but honestly, the comfort, cleanliness, and convenience make it worth the price. Overall, highly recommended!

Ficar aqui foi como encontrar um respiro no meio do mundo. O hostel tem uma energia leve, dessas que abraçam a gente sem esforço. A equipe é atenciosa, sempre pronta pra ajudar, e os espaços comuns parecem feitos pra juntar histórias de todos os cantos. Me senti acolhido, confortável e livre pra ser eu mesmo. Um lugar simples, sincero e cheio de boas vibrações. Voltaria fácil, de coração aberto.

We had a great stay at El Misti. Our room was small but very nice, clean, comfortable with bathroom ensuite. The hostel is centrally located with lots of dining, shopping options all around and 1 block from the beach. Perfect location ! The bar had vegetarian options that were delicious. It's a party Hostel. Very fun and stimulating. Not a zen one if you're searching for calm relax stay.

O Hostel é muito bem localizado a 1 quadra da praia e metrô tem diversos barzinhos e restaurantes por perto e pra quem viaja solo é uma ótima opção pois o hostel dispõe de várias atividades em grupo então dá pra conhecer gente de todo o mundo tive uma experiência incrível.
