The breakfast is great, and staffs are friendly and helpful.

The biggest issue was : no Air Conditioning. Very hot room and corridors. Other issues were small, but added up: Kids playing in reception/compass/entrance, shower door wrong way around, shower not draining, bar staff not always available, one lift not working - little things that could easily improve with care and attention, which you would expect at a good hotel.

It was everything I expected for the price

Room was good, staff was very helpful. Only issue was no A/C and we couldn’t get the room to cool down. We were there during a heat wave though.

Lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Had to give a 3 star rating overall as the room was so hot it was almost unbearable. It wasn’t hot outside and we had the windows open and a fan on throughout the night. We were told this was a known issue and is high up as a priority to fix.

It’s an old historic building. There was no AC, but mercifully the weather was cool at night, so it turned to be no issue for us. Nice location.

It’s an older hotel with small rooms. Our windows didn’t open all the way and it was very hot. The staff was friendly.

Hotel in great location for the Hard Interchange, ferries and Historic Dockyard. Room was newly refurbished but bathroom dated. All spotlessly clean. Hotel was mid renovation and to access room was walking through building site which wasn't ideal. Not all facilities were available during stay due to refurb.

An excellent stay. Yes work was taking place upgrading some of the hotel but it was still an excellent place to stay. Nice swimming pool too. Comfortable room.

Whilst it was clean and the staff were helpful, the hotel was very dated.

The West Wing where we were staying was beginning restoration. Shortly, but not too sweetly; for reasons I would be happy to list on request, I consider that Management would benefit in reputation from closing the wing till completion, rather than continuing to exploit its present tired mediocrity.

Lovely room and had a wonderful night in Portsmouth.

The Hotel was very pleasant, but only 4 stars because there was no Air condition in the bedrooms, and it was very warm..

The staff were helpful and polite. However, for a £150 room, it was tired with a badly maintained 1960's feel, peeling wallpaper and simple furniture. No air conditionin and with the window open, it was still too warm. The 'library public room' on the way to our guest room is being rebuilt, giving a feel of a building site. Our room, no. 423 was close to a fire door which was constantly banging with guests moving about. Overall it was functional but I don't recommend it and won't be staying there again.
