I am sorry to say but our experience at this hotel was awful. From the start there was a mixup with the accommodation and tried to charge us for an extra tra room. The building and rooms require a total renovation. But the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Bed was comfortable, shower worked well, tea making facilities provided.staff friendly, breakfast good. Nice pub, locals welcoming. My rooms TV was broken so owner moved me to another room and offered drinks when another room was not available on my second night. Old pub so floor boards creaky and stairs narrow and steep. Events held at weekends, so people who are noise sensitive should be aware. Annex rooms are quieter. Good for overnight stays if happy for basic bnb. Good connections for surrounding area.

Very noisy because of the pub below so until 23:00 loud then from 05:00 in the morning music starts again and people singing so if you want to party I guess it’s the right place but if you want to rest get yourself a proper hotel room, me personally I wouldn’t go back

This was the most fun stay I’ve ever had. Yes, the property is old but what character it has!! When I first arrived in the pub and checked in at the bar, I was greeted with such wonderful enthusiasm from the patrons and hospitality from the staff! I felt at home immediately. In fact, two of the patrons, older gentlemen, helped me carry my luggage, which included a large, heavy suitcase, up the VERY steep stairs. Nevertheless, despite very minor inconveniences, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this charming inn. I feel l have made friends for life. KUDOS to my friends, the staff - Andrea, Lee and Claire! If I possibly can, I will definitely return. And I heartily recommend this inn to those who want to experience some old romantic charm in a familial atmosphere. But be aware, it is old, creaky floors, stairs and all! But also really great! Oh, and they serve a delicious, free English breakfast! But currently no lunch or dinner is available. But you can order food from many of the great restaurants nearby and eat it in the pub with your pint!

Very good for the price, helpful staff, good breakfast. Noisy until midnight but good to see the pub busy.

Cheap and cheerful! The staff were very helpful, the room was clean, the bed comfy and the cooked breakfast in the morning very welcome. Would definitely stay here again

Good place

Very good value for a short stay near whipsinade zoo.

Room was cold . Tv did work . Kettle and tea/coffee provided. Bed was comfy. Pillows good. Main light was dim. Had an extra desk light but still dim. Although room over a pub it was quiet . Shared bathroom again was freezing . Shower trickles water out either roasting in max mode or freezing if you move it back a bit. Then takes 20 seconds to get boiling again. Price was good as breakfast was included but i was leaving at 6 so didnt have chance to try it.

What a find this place is. It’s basic but very comfortable. The bed especially. Didn’t want to get up. The breakfast was excellent

A great 'bolt hole' bed & breakfast pub, & it does what it says on the tin. Friendly staff with practical bedrooms & facilities. And their breakfast was the best part of my stay !

Clean , friendly and comfy , needed new shower as temp never changed but that’s minor . Car parking a bonus
