I had the most incredible stay at visitHOMES in Leirvík. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. The host, Lilja, is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, so welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely caring, which made the whole experience even more special. The accommodation itself is so cozy and beautifully kept, the perfect place to relax and unwind after exploring the Faroe Islands. Every detail felt intentional and comforting. Breakfast was such a highlight each morning, absolutely incredible. Lilja prepares everything herself using local ingredients and takes the time to explain what she’s made, which makes it feel so personal and special. Sitting in her kitchen enjoying a fresh, delicious breakfast was such a memorable and cozy experience. I also have to mention Simba, the adorable cat, such a sweet and calming presence. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for a warm, authentic, and memorable stay in the Faroes, this is it.

Very cute house with clean room and very friendly owner lady, she also prepared the bags of breakfast for us. Just the mattress of bed seems old, not comfortable. Overall it is a nice place to stay.

A charming home in the middle of Leirvik, just 10 minutes from the Klaksvik ferry to Kalsoy. Do note that the tunnel from Leirvik to Klaksvik comes with an added cost. Lilja does a fantastic job of making your stay personal and the homemade breakfast each morning is a great way to start the day! As I was the only one staying (there are multiple rooms that could potentially be rented out at the same time), I particularly enjoyed our conversations about Faroese life, culture, faith and tourism. She is more than willing to help answer any questions that you have!

Lilja was the best host we have ever had. Our room was perfect. The breakfast prepared by Lilja was incredible, every day there was something delicious and different to eat. The best decision we made was to stay at visitHomes during our stay in the Faroe Islands. She recommended different places to visit and even prepared some breakfast items for us to eat when we left early. I am very appreciative for her kindness and care.

Me and my wife stayed 4 nights at the hotel. We had a great stay and have good breakfasts every day. The host Lilja is a fantastic person who tell us about what we did have for breakfast and tips us about different places to visit. We can really recommend this hotel.

Wir waren 5 Nächte in Leirvik bei visitHOMES und es war einfach wunderbar. Lilja und ihr Mann sind herzliche und aufmerksame Gastgeber, immer mit einer Geschichte über die Färöer und Tipps für Ausflüge zur Hand. Das Frühstück mit lokalen Produkten variierte und jeden Morgen waren in der Frühstücksrunde andere Gäste aus der Welt zu Gast, so dass wir zB nebenbei auch noch einiges über Argentinien erfahren haben. Die Lage ist sehr gut um den Norden der Inseln zu erkunden und wir kommen bestimmt wieder nach Leirvik wenn wir auf den Färöer Station machen sollen.

Lovely host, great room, wonderful breakfasts, and convenient location. Nice and close for the ferry to Kalsoy the next morning. Highly recommend!

The owner and her daughter are VERY nice and kind. One morning I could not wait for the time to have breakfast and she prepared a packed one for me the night before! Room is pretty small but cute, sometimes need to wait to go to the bathroom, but it’s ok!! Great place

The hotel was busy, even though the booking was made one month in advance, no one told me that the hotel did not inform them, I found out that on May 6, 2019, when I was to be accommodated and I found out that the hotel owner deducted me from the card the price for accommodation fourteen days before the start of the accommodation. I was forced to search for other accommodation and in connection with this, I am asking for a remedy by Hotels.com.

A wonderful place with wonderful hosts. It's not a hotel - it's better! I was made to feel at home as if I were a family member. Location is ideal if you want to explore all of the islands.
