The location was pretty close to both Aldgate East (3-5 minute walk) and Aldgate (7-10 minute walk) stations, which made getting around the city pretty easy. It is a little farther from many of the tourist attractions than I’d realized by looking at a map, but thankfully I wasn’t too crunched for time during my visit.
My biggest frustration about my stay was with communication and check-in. I’d been in contact with the hotel through Expedia, and had booked two add-ons for my stay—early check-in and daily breakfast— through links to their website they had sent me. I was approved for both, and had printed the confirmation. When I arrived, staff said they didn’t have a record of these add-ons. After a 12 hour travel day and navigating an hour to the hotel from the airport during the end of June heat wave, I didn’t remember I had the print out. They were able to prepare a room for me to check into, but the price for both the early check in and the breakfast add on was higher than the price I was shown on the website. While in GBP it wasn’t a significant cost difference, when converted to USD it was noticeable.
The rain head shower in the room had barely any water pressure, but the handheld option was wonderful. The bathroom was tight, but functional.
The breakfast food selection was nice, and the lounge and terrace, while both relatively small, were excellent additional spaces to spend some time.
I’d consider staying here again!
