Here’s a more natural version that sounds like something a real traveler would write. We had a nice stay at the Old Mill Motel. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful from check-in to check-out. The best part of this motel is the location. It’s right on the river with a beautiful view, and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. It’s also just a short walk to nearby restaurants, which made it very convenient. There are a couple of things that could be improved. The small window air conditioner had a hard time keeping the room cool, especially on a hot day. The property itself could also use a little attention. The grounds looked a bit tired and would really benefit from some general upkeep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The clean room, great staff, and beautiful riverside setting made it a good place to spend the night, and we would stay here again if we were in the area. I think this reads much more like a genuine Expedia review written by an actual guest. It sounds balanced, specific, and not overly polished.

The room was musty. The bathroom smell moldy. The pillows were musty and since I have allergies to mold we had to switch out the pillows for the ones we brought. The comforter had holes in it and obviously extremely old. This room desperately needed some renovations.

Room had a window air conditioner that was loud but sufficient to keep the room cool. Bathroom had some mold along the baseboards and the toilet leaked water on the floor. It’s a typical Ontario road side dumpy motel. The upside was the restaurant across the street that makes excellent home cooked meals and the closeness to TH.

The room is clean very spacious, it was quiet ., but the room is too bright maybe dark curtins would be good. We didnt like the washroom the water was cold , the toilet wont flush properly ,the key was little tough to get into the room.

I could not sleep because the room has big windows looking out to the parking lot which has bright lights on all night. The curtains are not black out so all the light comes in and they don't even cover one of the windows at all. The shower head sprayed everywhere, could not use it. Toilet leaking on floor. Dirty, moldy bathroom.

By all appearances from the outside, this is a cute motel. Inside the larger rooms, it was quite nice when you first enter. Aged but not bad. The fridge temperature was lukewarm and wouldn't change. Beds were comfortable but 2 very small pillows per queen bed didn't quite cut it with 3 kids and an adult. The bathroom was atrocious. Rotten wood due to shower head spraying everywhere. Could not adjust the high pressure for the little ones. Black mold in the corners, mildew and calcium build up everywhere else. The shower head wasn't fully attached to the wall and neither was the faucet. I did my best to avoid any further water damage but couldn't. AC worked well however the curtains are not blackout. And didn't fit the whole window which was an issue because the floodlights facing the units penetrated the room. It was daylight all night. The fire alarm kept tripping at 4am because of dust or insects. Not sure. THe screen door did not have a screen in it so you couldn't keep it open for fresh air. Another lesson learned.

Friendly front desk clerk. No drama. Got a goodnights sleep. Blind River is a nice little town to walk around and explore.

The river view room was small, and toilet wasn’t working and neither was the tv. That stuff happens. However next morning, shower handle fell off…. I expected a little more for the price we paid. I fixed the tv wires and toilet. I spoke to manager and he knew what room…so clearly that’s been a problem, not fixed. The shower curtain also had mold on it. Beds were comfy… It was pet friendly. Thank goodness ,we have dogs. Overall, it wasn’t bad and would stay again. Definitely asking for different room. Restaurant right across the road, real food… not expensive! Give it a try…..

This property is aptly named - The Old Mill Motel. I would add one more word to the name, “VERY” Old and it is in need of either tearing down or a majorly expensive update! The only good thing about the room was a comfy bed, when really, if you are on a really tight budget, that’s all that matters. The problem is there is little to choose from in Blind River. The room was clean, but as basic as you can get. Room 21 appears to be sinking in the middle, as there is a definite slope to the room! The ceiling is also bowed in somewhat, so maybe the building is going to slide into the river right next door! Arriving at 6:00 pm, the rooms were mostly full and there was no hot water left. The TV remote is useless, except for turning the TV on, which then says “no signal” no matter which button you push. The bathroom electrical plugs did not function, nor the one near the door. It is ALL very old and dated. At least with no TV for the evening, I went to bed early and did have a good sleep, allowing me an early get away in the morning. No problem with other guests was noticed in the night. I would not choose to stay in Blind River again.

Clean, large rooms and a friendly staff on a beautiful little river. Close to amenities, pet friendly.
