We arrived very late for our stay (10pm) and the woman at the desk, Espy, was so lovely to us and even asked us if we had eaten yet. We told her, yes, but if we hadn't, I think she would have got us a bite to eat!

This is a very time-worn property in significant need of repair and maintenance. We appreciated the fact that we were allowed to look at the rooms before selecting one. However, the choices all had issues. The room we chose was on the 2nd floor (no elevator). It had very soft, creaky beds, a big step to access the bathroom (with a step stool!), a tin shower, a piece of tissue to block a hole in the screen, and no air conditioning or TV in the room, The only saving grace was that price was reasonable and the breakfast was decent.

The entire property is quite old and tired. But it was quaint and the room was very clean. We sat out on the porch and enjoyed the view. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was nice. A good variety of muffins fruit cereal yogurt and lots of coffee. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. As was the attendant at breakfast. I would certainly would book again.

The house is so old that it should be put in a museum.

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The inn had a nice charm with history. Loved that the marina was a 10 min walk to a beautiful view of Lake Superior. The continental breakfast was an added bonus.

I love this place, the staff are all really friendly. I hope when we go back home we can stay there again but come sooner because the kids really wanted to play in their game room.

No staff on site after 9pm If booking while on road ,dont doors are locked at 9 Lucky if you can reach anyone Go with bigger chain. If planning ahead great home feeling ,almost a bed and breakfast.

Nice place

Beds comfortable and bathroom clean. The place has lots of character but needs some paint and new rugs. Door to room warped so wouldn't close tightly so it could be locked. Breakfast would benefit from a toaster and bread

The historic hotel with its charming ambiance had an amazing receptionist who was very helpful. Located by the lake, we truly enjoyed our stay there.

Très bon accueil, très chaleureux. Cet hôtel n'est pas pour tout le monde. C'est un bâtiment patrimonial qui a besoin de travaux de mise à jour importants, mais qui a un charme incomparable. J'y retournerai si je fais un nouveau voyage dans la région. À mon avis, c'est l'hébergement le plus intéressant sur la route entre Sault Ste-Marie et Thunder Bay. Ceux qui aiment le confort et le design modernes doivent cependant regarder ailleurs.

Old rooms no tv no fridge no microwave few outlets a step up into the bathroom. It was not a good experience
