Good vacation hotel

The first room we were placed in faced a parking lot, we were moved to a room on the 3rd floor that was ADA and felt musty and old, the bathroom needed a DEEP cleaning, there was trash/room service food left outside of doors way too long, felt like they were understaffed.

Overall an enjoyable stay. 4 stars. Would’ve been 5 if room was a bit more updated and there wasn’t a long wait for valet. Friendly staff and great location. Complimentary bicycles were awesome!

Balconies facing the ocean, great food, bar , pool bar and easy to get to The Village in Carlsbad and Escondido Village where an awesome beach is located called Moonlight Beach.

Great location and loved the restaurant the most.

5 star service from the staff! Chandler's restaurant had the most amazing truffle fries- delicious! The Corner King Suite was perfect for watching the sunset! The 2 room suite was well appointed and spacious. The bathroom was very large with a tremendous soaking tub with all the amenities. Book the King Suite and treat yourself!

We had a nice time.. Hotel grounds were smaller than the picture showed. Our room with ocean view had busy traffic just below so it wasn’t pleasant noise wise with balcony or leaving room patio door open. The staff .. for pool grounds and restaurant were a 5 star!! Happy hour from 4-6:00each day was great.

Ocean view! This hotel was top notch! We had an ocean front room which was amazing! We love the beach and that was our reason for booking. The beach his right across the street and it was really fun to be able to walk across the street and be at the beach! We enjoyed the entire day there and then enjoyed the pool the stray of the day. The pool was lovely. It has an ocean viiew and is large. There are toys for the kids to play with . The best part is that they are free. My daughter played in the pool for hours ! The staff is excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.!we had a few minor issues and the staff was all responsive.

We loved the pool but think they sell a few too many day passes as it was really crowded. The reception was fantastic and the music and restaurant were great.

We were offered and accepted a room upgrade $85/night for a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. That gave us 9 hours of the most atrocious “music” blasting so that sitting on the balcony was very uncomfortable! Also the bathroom floor and tile could use a good scrubbing. Was very disappointed.

Cape Rey was the perfect location to beach, restaurants and shopping! Chandler’s restaurant located in the hotel is a plus with excellent food, drinks and service. Their patio is the perfect spot to view sunset or walk across the street to be on the beach!

After a long travel day, it was great to come to our room. While I was hoping for a slightly better view, the access to the pool and ocean are amazing and beautiful. We were not in our rooms long enough to care too much about our view.
