Very comfortable bed, lovely room, bit cold due to old building, got hot with heating but easy to adjust heaters if needed. Natrow and steep stairs so need to be capable for this with big bags, was fine for us but tight. So easy to walk and hike straight from the hotel.

The whole experience was excellent from start to end. Beautiful room, friendly staff, good quality breakfast, free parking. Can't fault anything about it. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and again, the menu was varied and exceptional quality.

Car park kind of small but otherwise a fantastic pub with great modern rooms. Friendly pub and lovely check in. Right in the centre of town and a great place to stay. Would highly recommend

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Stag. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated with an incredible bathroom, the staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast was a solid 11/10. The pub itself has a great atmosphere, with a mix of friendly locals and fellow holiday makers. It’s also incredibly dog-friendly; they even served our pup his very own sausage in a bowl at breakfast, which was such a thoughtful touch. Parking is easy and convenient, just out the back of the pub. Perfectly situated in the heart of the New Forest, it’s an ideal base for exploring the area.

Check in was fast and efficient - thank you Liam, who also showed us to our room. Our room was large and spacious. Unfortunately, the only thing that let it down was the fact that we were unable to open the windows. Due to the hotel being Grade 2 listed - replacing windows is not straightforward! However, a fan was supplied in the room - bit too noisy to use overnight. A great stay though, staff are super friendly and helpful and a great breakfast!

Our second stay at the Stag. Took my mum as a surprise for her birthday. Again a lovely welcome and bright, clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Staff are friendly and attentive. Fantastic breakfast and evening meals. Lovely atmosphere. The staff put up balloons and a happy birthday banner for my mum which was really thoughtful and a lovely surprise. Will be back.

The Stag remains my favourite place to stay in Lyndhurst because of the personal service and the food - very tasty and substantial

Spent a couple of nights at The Stag. The staff are very friendly and make a real effort with customer service and to ensure you enjoy your stay. We were expecting our room to be quite small as it was an economy double, but in the end it was the size of most double rooms. Floor space and plenty of room to put our suitcase, hang clothes, etc. Even a small desk to work on. The bathroom was quite spacious and had a really nice walk in shower with rainfall shower head. Everything was clean. The breakfast was good and there's solid wifi throughout. The restaurant is quite nice with some meals beyond the usual pub fare. Also a nice outdoor dining area. Car parking is available, with charging stations for EVs. Note, as you approach Lyndhurst, take the lest left before the hotel and then the first right to find the car park out the back. There's also a bike rack in the car park if you rent bikes, which you can do from the shop over the road.

Yes could not fault it staff outstanding breakfast was one best ever had room very good walk in shower was great no lift thou quite lot stairs to get up but we managed ok would i return yes without any doubt in yes thankyou stag hotel

Overnight stay , comfortable room, bit too warm as windows didn’t open enough , although this is being addressed. Shower good and breakfast good . Would stay again .

This was the perfect stay over for a weekend with friends and family in the New Forest. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Rooms are clean, comfortable and modern in a very old hotel.

Warm welcome. Comfortable bed and clean well decorated room. Proper walk in shower without a horrible shower curtain was a bonus! Very dog friendly. Pleasant breakfast. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel, pub and food the staff were brilliant. Only slight issue was the heat in the room during the night.

Staff were lovely, amazing breakfast (go for the cooked one!) and the room was clean and tidy. Only thing is no air con so when it got hot it was a bit stuffy but that’s the only downside we could see. Car park is limited so need to get there early before patrons arrive to dine in the restaurant on site.

The room in the hotel was great, good size, clean and comfortable. Hotel is also centrally located. However check in was at 3pm and checkout next day was 10am! Breakfast on a Sunday 7.30-9.30! Most hotels allow a later breakfast at the weekend so guests can relax and rest, clearly not the case here. We were also woken at 7am by cars driving past, very loudly, on the way to Beaulieu. That’s obviously not the hotel’s fault.
