Ramshackle hotel - when the wind blew everything was shaking. The patio is nice and the breakfast is fine. Parking is difficult but it seems that’s how it is everywhere

A experiência no Residencial do Vale foi, pela segunda vez, muito agradável. Todas as pessoas foram extremamente gentis e cordiais. O ambiente é muito acolhedor e as pessoas são muito simpáticas e solícitas!

The Staff was very friendly and helps every time / Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat immer geholfen. The Rooms were clean but the equipment is a little bit older and some are a little bit small / Die Räume waren sauber aber die Einrichtung ist etwas älter und manche Räume waren etwas klein. Over all it is very Nice and I'd love to come back / alles in allem ist es sehr schön und ich komme gerne wieder. Best Regards

The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel. The hotel could really use an upgrade on their rooms however. Possibly a fan as it can get quite hot. The walls are very thin and you can hear almost every noise if you're a light sleeper. I'm pretty sure the TV in my room was from 1960s. But overall, you get your money's worth. Still a great place to stay because of their amazing staff.

Chambre confort simple.Etant orientée nord-ouest, pas besoin de climatisation, ce qui est fort appréciable. Personnel prévenant. Bon petit-déjeuner. Parking gratuit dans la rue, facile de se garer dans la rue d’au dessus. Nous sommes restés 5 nuits.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were able to organise taxis and have food delivered. For a 3 star hotel the facilities were very good with a bar that opened late. If you want to eat in an area id provided for you to eat a take away which is more pleasant than eating it in your room.

Accueil très sympathique. Hôtes très à l'écoute et nous ayant préparé les renseignements nécessaires pour nos visites de l'île. Chambre calme, ménage et lits refaits chaque jour. Petit déjeuner copieux. Cadre agréable. Nous sommes très satisfaits et recommandons cet hôtel.

Som følge af coronaen blev servicen kraftigt nedtonet, ligefrem manglede helt. Selvom der skulle være rengøring, sengeredning m.m. dagligt blev det kun udført efter skriftlig henvendelse til værten. Wi-fi på værelserne var der heller ikke. Selv med covid burde der ikke slækkes på servicen; det var der bare ingen undskyldning for!

The staff is absolutely amazing here! The customer service is superb (yet very subtle). For example, one evening I used an extra blanket and the next day the staff noticed that and brought a space heater for me to use. Another day, the staff brought a container to organize my bathroom supplies. They also kept track of my itinerary and left reminders for me when I had a tour scheduled. All of the staff members that I spoke with were extremely pleasant and nice. I very highly recommend this hotel!
