Fantastic location, very nice room. The ear plugs were both worrisome and a nice touch. The surrounding area is definitely noisy from the main thoroughfare and local music from pubs.

Excellent situation, very good breakfast. (no hot milk weirdly) Take an eye mask as our bedroom had terrible green glowing light in the ceiling which meant the bedroom was never dark all night. It was really intrusive and would put me off staying here again.

We have stayed before so we already knew the hotel; - Staff courteous and efficient. - The room was spacious, clean, light and airy, - Breakfast This time though there were a few niggles. - Parking: insufficient information i.e not clear where we could park (permit etc); - Key card did’nt work, however quickly dealt with; - Long hair on the shower wall; - Bed REALLY uncomfortable (springs felt)/pillow hard hence we couldn’t get to sleep; - More hand towels needed; - No drinking glasses ie water etc; - No information book; - Bath/shower, VERY hard to get in and out. No slip-mat included (accident waiting to happen); - No sockets near bed (charge phones etc).

Hotel was central to where we wanted to be, the hotel was very comfortable clean and quiet at night, lovely bar the dining room looked lovely but we didn’t have food there, staff were helpful, cleaners were very friendly and helped in any way they could, would definitely stay again

Great hotel is a fantastic location. Only downside was a noisy bar not too far away that played loud music until 2am, which is out of the control of the Hotel.

We have stayed in The Royal before it was quiet everyone was friendly , the food was nice . Our room was very clean . We very much enjoyed our stay . We will definitely be back again .

The Hotel was fine needs a little updating but the bar Sass needs to be more respectful. The music was fine but they need to allow drinking late at night inside and not on the streets and they need to be moving people away quickly when they close at 2pm.

It was a great hotel in the centre of town and food was good as well

Road facing room,107,late night pup opposite,didn't get much rest with all the noise.very disappointed.

Overall a very good stay , room was clean but were slight area for improvement bath had small chip in enamel and shower awkward to use going cold at times.tiwels slightly frayed 1st day but much better quality when replaced second day. Main room curtains frayed and radiator had marks along top. Furniture dated but clean and usable.wanted a bath mat which was supplied straight away. All staff were very friendly , food was well cooked and tasty and it's the 1st toaster they does great toast 1st time. Had really good break so thanks to all.

Lovely setting, close to the beach and all other facilities. Hotel very tired generally. In my room the curtain was falling down, carpet was threadbare and general sprucing needed

Really clean and tidy room. Staff were polite and easy to talk to . Definitely going back.

Terrible

The Hotel was in a lovely spot clise to everything. Nice and clean but the room was a little run down.

Lovely staff, lovely lobby and parking so close to the seafront was great, lots of options at breakfast and easy to have a meal with no notice. However, on arrival, there was rubbish on the floor - snickers wrapper and crisp packet. The wallpaper was scraped off the walls in several places. Carpet threadbare all over. Good coffee facilities. Beds uncomfortable but seemed clean.

Double bed mattress was extremely soft. Shower wasn’t very powerful at all, it also fluctuated in temperature a lot which would be an issue with children using it. Room dated however it was clean. We didn’t use the restaurant but the bar seemed pleasant.

Very nice, traditional hotel. Friendly staff: big, free car park and excellent location close to shops and beach. Can be noisy- rooms at the front overlook several bars which are loud, especially at closing. Rooms at the back have wonderful sea views but overlook the bar and outside area where weddings etc may be celebrated quite late into the night!

Nice hotel with easy access to town and beach
