Nice fresh home- made food,good menu and excellent selection of real ales!

We stayed at The Ship for a special wedding anniversary. It’s an exceptional hotel in a wonderful area which has a unique atmosphere. The hotel food is good with a menu that changes over the seasons. The breakfast is very good and there is plenty of choice from pastries and cereals to full English. The rooms are well furnished and comfy and the tea, coffee and biscuits topped up daily. For bird watchers the estuary is worth a visit and in the room we chose the hotel thoughtfully provided binoculars. We also visited Birkenhead Park that inspired New York Central Park. The highlight had to be our visit to Port Sunlight and the Lady Lever art gallery. A brilliant exhibition of Jim Moir's art which was much more skilled than we’d realised from the Sky Arts tv series.

Awesome place to stay.

I have stayed at this property before and the rooms and location are good. However on this occasion the dinner service was awful. It took more than an hour between my starter and main course, during this time the waitress passed me multiple times and never once asked if i needed a drink (glass was empty) or if everything was ok. I felt like i was a hindrance rather than a customer.

Lovely hotel, clean, spacious, nice decor & beautiful views. The location was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the dining terrace overlooking the Welsh Hills. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was big as was the bathroom with a bath. It had a big, comfortable bed. The only negative was the TV. It was very small for the room and had a very basic freeview, with most channels having no signal. A bigger TV with Netflix, so we could watch a film or something would make the stay spectacular. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

We cancelled by telephone because of a serious illness, and did not stay here. However due to the way the hotel is run and via automated system we keep receiving the messages. I can only assume the staff have an ignorant attitude as they appear not to of cancelled my stay. For this reason alone I would not be able to recommend this hotel.

Beautiful stay! Very comfy family room with a king bed and a single, fan provided as it was HOT! Very small bathroom but very clean with lots of towels. Gorgeous terrace for drinks and beautiful breakfast the next morning. The only suggestion would be the terrace is maybe reserved for residents as we wanted to go in for another drink and it was full which was a shame. But cant blame them, it was gorgeous there! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Very enjoyable stay at the Ship. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely food at dinner and breakfast. Quiet room which was very comfortable.

Lovely break away. Stayed in the Superior Super King Size Room - immaculate, great views (and binoculars provided) Bed extremely comfortable.

My only issue was the TV reception was poor, many channels not available including ITV

We had a beautiful one night stay at the Ship for a special birthday celebration. The staff were extremely hard working and whilst busy they still remained professional and kind. The room was stunning with a beautiful view of the conservation beach outside. The bed was huge and really comfortable! We had the best nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. Wonderful place to stay.
