The room was as advertised. It was very clean, however, there were only 2 bottles of water on arrival. It was the Christmas season and there was hardly any Christmas carols or music in the foyer area during our stay. The fans in the swimming pool area were removed and it can be stifling at times with the humid weather without the fans. The ceiling was not repaired properly and it does not look like a 5-star hotel in the pool area. A bit disappointed for the price we paid. The breakfast spread was excellent.

Jika nilainya sepuluh, saya kasih sembilan dan sarapannya enak sekali dan banyak jenis pilihan, makan malamnya sulit diceritakan, menunya enak enak semua dan ruang kamarnya besar sekali dan kamar mandinya super besar dan lampu lampunya terang sekali dan pelayanannya sangat cepat dan tanggap, hotelnya memang sudah capai 130 tahun, namun perawatannya sangat terjaga dan satu satunya hotel yang jaraknya hanya 50 meter di bibir pantai, terkesan bersih dan damai.

It 's a pleasant stay for us. The spacious room and also the beautiful view. The room has beautiful colonial design with high quality amenities. Good view from the balcony is very relaxing too. Really worth the price and can't wait for another stay!

We stayed at E&O - Victory Annexe for 3 nights, it was a very comfortable experience. The room was classic and comfortable with a great view of the sea and a spacious bathroom. When we first checked in we were assigned a room on the 7th floor with a partial view of the sea. Upon request for a sea facing room, the hotel staff was kind enough to find one for us that had just become available on the 9th floor. While we waited for the room the staff was very helpful and guided us to the restaurant for some complimentary tea and coffee. The check in experience was great. Their infinity pool is amazing! Can have a nice leisurely afternoon by the pool with some drinks and snacks. overall a great experience, the heritage and colonial charm of the hotel definitely adds to the whole experience! The location is closeby to all popular locations in George Town. would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and come back here ourselves.

We have visited the E & O hotel at least 7 times over the last 5 years each time staying in the Victory Annex. It has always been a luxury and relaxing treat. Sadly it is starting to lose its character. Sadly we were left a little underwhelmed by our recent visit late May 2019. The location is still great, the staff are all still fantastic and we still had a really relaxing stay. But, the things that once made the hotel stand above the others such as the enjoyable 'chaos' of the complimentary cocktail hour and complimentary teas and coffees offered by the Planters lounge have gone. Simple things that made the stay exceptional rather than average have vanished. The management tell us that it is due to the refurbishment of the older heritage wing, but seems more like a cost cutting exercise that will sadly deter the regular clientele from returning. Looks like we we need to find another location to enjoy Penang.

It was not a plan journey. We both tired from 3 week holiday in England with kids and in law. With jet lag and emergency call to visit a family in Penang Hospital, we decided to drive when all good time to fly ticket not available due to long weekend. With all that we decided to stay at E&O again after such a long time after our honeymoon 13yrs ago there. Its was brilliant and the best decision we make that weekend, we been upgrade and the staff was amazing as we remembered and surely its bring back the best honeymoon memories. We check in and never leave the hotel until we check out, all you want from Penang is there. E& O is what Penang is. Classy, historic, warm welcome, home, exclusive, luxury, comfort, love, scenic, peace of mind and its life.
