Thanks to the receptionist Samuel for his excellent service and recommendations for local dining restaurants. All the staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful with personal warmth. The hotel itself is at great location, clean room, and free minibar provided. We had a wonderful experience staying in Marthof Hotel and will definitely stay here again next time when we come back.

Das Hotel Märthof war für uns eine sehr positive und unerwartete Erfahrung. Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Staff, das Morgenessenbuffet ist reichhaltig und erfüllte unsere Erwartungen voll und ganz. Gutes Zimmer, alles sehr sauber und die Inneneinrichtung gut durchdacht. Einzig fanden wir die Preise im dazu gehörenden Restaurant eher stolz für das Angebot und für eine Brasserie. Wir werden das Hotel sicher wieder besuchen, Basel hat ja noch einiges zu entdecken für uns.

Best hotel experience I've had in my life. And I'm 54 years old so I've been in a lot of hotels. It's not just that the hotel itself is incredible, the staff went above and beyond my expectations every day. If I return to Basel I will definitely stay at this hotel and not even look for another one

Uniqueness of this hotel is its staff, who are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. With fab hotel rooms, staff and location makes 5* for me.

The staff were all so very professional. They accommodated all our needs. Even gave me a kettle for tea. Beautiful hotel in a nice area.

The property and staff was all excellent. The only thing I would recommend is to have the sauna and steam rooms operational by 7 am.

The room was very warm, but the staff provided us with summer blanket and a fan which truly helped get us through the night. The staff was very helpful with directions to tram, restaurants provided a dry bag for floating down the river ride, which was exceptionally fun

Unser Aufenthalt war fantastisch! Die Zimmer sind sauber und komfortabel und das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und geht auf die Bedürfnisse der Gäste ein. Das Frühstück war lecker. Die Lage ist perfekt, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir kommen auf jeden wieder!

Well presented hotel with charm and a beer enjoyable rooftop bar over looking the Marktplatz. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Excellent tram connections just outside the hotel.

Great location, very clean, great internet access, very friendly and accommodating staff. A little noisy due to the tram and although they state it has air conditioning, it's in the pipes in the walls, so the room does not get cool if it's hot.
