To start off, thank you to the staff that were under some pressure to get everyone checked-in to their hotel rooms during an unexpected series of flight cancellations at LGA on the evening of Sept 4. The wait to check-in was very long, but they were able to offer us complimentary breakfast to compensate. The hotel room itself was clean with modern finishes and the breakfast was 10/10. We only stayed for the night, so we didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the rooftop space, but it did look beautiful! The hotel shuttle was a great addition, very convenient.
However, upon arriving at the hotel, we did notice a very odd smell in the lobby, and then again in the hallways and even in the room. I'm not sure exactly where the smell was coming from, but it was quite unpleasant - it didn't have that fresh hotel smell at all. In addition, the AC unit in our room was obnoxiously loud. We were on the fourth floor, but we could hear the traffic outside as if the window was open - it was not. With the AC running and poor soundproofing of the windows, it was near impossible to get a goodnights sleep.
From this experience I likely would not recommend this hotel to family and friends, but I'd like to believe it was just a one-time occurrence.
