The only real interaction I had with the employees at Aquarius was with the Reception Team, and they were all polite, cheery, good at what they were doing and very welcoming.
It's an old building however it appears to be pretty well maintained. One rarity these days was the internet. It was brilliant. I had a property purchase to finalise and had no trouble at all. Many places offer free wifi but you end up having to hotspot to the phone. Not at Aquarius.
Location wise, it's great for a Townsville stay.

This hotel is perfect for seniors. The views over the bay are legendary, the rooms have everything needed - air conditioning, microwave, crockery, cutlery, washing up gear, balcony. For those who like swimming the Strand central beach is perfect, just over the road.

We stay here as it is the most reasonably priced hotel in Townsville when we go to the rugby league. It is about a 20 minute walk from the stadium which suits us. There are pleaty of dining and breaky options nearby.

Room 508 is looking sad, needs a revamp, . cream lounge very uncomfortable, worn and dirty. White Coffee table chipped around the edges, bathroom mirror finish damaged, paint scuffed and chipped around floor corners. Otherwise position on the strand and views can’t fault, except for the noise of certain car owners, doing laps with backfires, cackling and loud exhaust when accelerating.

The room and hotel position is very good. Close to restaurants and local attractions. Great views from the room. Hotel car parking area fills up by about 5pm so may have to find a spot on the street if coming back later which is not hard. Staff are very good and helpful

Excellent location on The Strand, beautiful views of beach, sea & Magnetic Island from my balcony. Restaurants, cafes, Coles, public swimming pools, Ferry to Magnetic Island all very close to hotel.
My room on the 11th floor was spacious and equipped to make simple meals. The bed was really comfortable and the blackout curtains effective. Shower was good with plenty of hot water.
Staff were very friendly.
I wish you would remove the very stained & grubby carpet & the very worn, shabby bar stools from room 1104, no amount of daily house keeping can revive these two things!!!
I had a lovely 13 night stay at this hotel and would stay again if I ever visit Australia again!

Good: I had a late check-in which the staff arranged for me to access the hotel no problem, thanks. The view from my room (level 12) was great.
Not so good: loud whistle/trilling noise that was not repaired. Cockroaches in bathroom. Effort getting the bathroom door to stay closed. Lack of interest in my issues.

Really good value for the price this year, went to book for exactly same time next year at an extra $900 really random
Really good amenities eg sink, crockery microwave bigger fridge.
However mattress was very hard, internet was hit and miss which meant even normal television wasn’t working for the first 2 days and lastly the shower head needed a good clean with CLR as it was shooting water everywhere.

Checked in after hours after a late flight arrival. The room was very cold due to the aircon which was also very noisy so we turned it off straight away. Unfortunately, there was no blanket to add to the bed that was made up with just a sheet, so we had a bad night’s sleep first night. So cold! The staff were helpful next morning and had a blanket sent up for us for the rest of our stay. Also helpful with advice on where to shop etc.
We had wonderful views from 5th floor. The hotel was perfectly situated for pleasant walks along the Strand and within walking distance to restaurants.

Fantastic Location, we did not have a car and it was very easy to walk everywhere from the Aquarius.
The view from the Room was magnificent, our Bathroom was a bit dated but clean.
A lot of coffee shops, pubs and eating places are very close as well as a beautiful walking path along the beach.
Would definitely stay again.

The properties in a great location but everything is very dated. The rooms are very dated. The bathrooms need a bit of a refurbish but overall it was clean.
