Very stylish boutique hotel which situated on the second floor or a bar & restaurant. However, when we first entered our room we found out the room wasn’t ready and it seemed like it had not been properly made up by the staff. We had to tell the hotel manager this issue and waited for another 15 to 20 minutes until they finally finished the room (We arrived around 4 or 5pm). Then, we found out the a/c system wasn’t working, we told the manager again and then he came with his boss, I think, their explanation was the system was set to "heat" in the master room so it could only has either heat or fan function. So I asked them to turn on the fan function for me for a better air circulation in the room(The window inside the room cannot be opened). However, still nothing happened after the fan function was turned on, they explained the system was already working and since it was a very quiet system that’s why we couldn’t hear anything. To be honest, both my gf and I worked in interior fitting jobs so we knew the system wasn’t working at all, theses guys were just trying to make excuses. Eventually, we had to borrow a standup fan to use, quite disappointing.

Its a great location, very well maintained pub, delicious food and a good range; the staff are welcoming, very helpful and obliging, the accommodation is very comfortable and well presented and the lounge/kitchen eating area upstairs for visitors is excellent.

Great location for me across from a park, clean. There was no hot water only one morning and no electricity in the breakfast area. My room #3 was very loud from bar downstairs trivea night was the loudest. It was also next to the door for the outside access it was loud and the light was very bright. People were in & out all hours. Curtains were semi sheer so people could see in if lights were on. Should replace curtains with light blocking ones, for privacy & the light seems to be on a timer I was woken a few nights around 2am. I have recommended to my son in-laws friends.

We accidently booked a room that needs share restrooms. But it worked out nicely. Plenty of bread and milk for breakfast. Bus stops outside door. Beautiful neighborhood.

Homely, well run, older style pub, with clean and comfortable accommodation. Complimentary self-help continental-style breakfast was advertised. Over the weekend, we took care of ourselves from a pre-stocked fridge that wasn’t restocked over the four days I was in residence. The fruit ran out, as did the whole meal bread. This was disappointing. The staff could not have been more helpful in reception or the bar! They were the highlight!

North Sydney Hotel was perfect for us! It was only a 1km walk to the US Consulate, the room was cute, the rain shower was perfect and the common room for breakfast was a nice touch. I only wished we could have stayed a lil longer to enjoy the pub and restaurant downstairs. It's in a great central location with easy access to trains.

A great place to stay in north Sydney

We really appreciated the restoration work here - they’ve kept the heritage feel of the hotel intact without making it feel dated. Despite being above a pub and right on a main road, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. Great location for exploring North Sydney. The common room and kitchen was a lovely surprise. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus that made mornings easy.

It was ok

Comfortable upstairs rooms rooms in a cosy local pub hotel reminiscent of accomodation of an English Country Pub atmostphere. A breakfast kitchen and lounge along with shared bathrooms make for rooms make for an interesting communal atmostphere with fellow travellers unlike large corporate hotels. Fantastically located opposite a lovely local park and nearby shopping strips and restaurants of North Sydney of Crows Nest just a medium stroll away.

The room was on the smaller end but very very lovely. It was spotless and the bedding was nice and clean. Staff was very nice and friendly. Stayed for 5 nights, and if I’d ever come back to Sydney I’ll definitely stay here again.

The hotel was easy to reach by public transport. The staff were very efficient and helpful. I liked the mix of old world style and new technology in the rooms. Also, it was quieter than expected at night, so I slept well. Breakfast was generous: we could help ourselves to coffee & tea, fruit, cereal and/or make toast.

Clean, well appointed room with great shared bathroom. Will look to stay again when next in Sydney.

The friendly manager showed me around, really impressed with the beautiful room and large bathroom. The restaurant downstairs was delicious! A quick taxi ride to hospital in the morning made for a very ebjoyable stay before my planned operation.

The provided breakfast was adequate 3 types of cold cereal & milk, various types of bread to toast, and lots of spreads to use Always 2 types of fresh milk, but fresh fruit bowl emptied quickly. Teas, instant coffee and French press always available. The bar downstairs had great selection of cold beer and portion sizes in restaurant are huge. Room was clean and well presented, staff (and clientele) very friendly . Main downside was road noise from street, but it subsided over night.

If you don't want corporate rooms. If you want a DIY breakfast and a comfortable lounge. Really friendly staff this is for you. Would I stay here again YES.
