The place is nice, very convenience

I would have to be desperate to stay here. The room smellt like a toilet, towel rail broken, spiders, poor condtition. This place need a makeover.

This is a very ordinary basic hotel and extremely over priced.

The Sphinx probably had its heyday in the 1980’s and still retains the optimism of that era. Our room was sparkling clean with none of the dreadful chemical deodoriser smell some older premises use. As an asthmatic - thank you Sphinx! The restaurant and bar are handy and the service excellent.

clean basic motel room but bed was very comfortable. Food at bistro was lovely too

Not worth of money, not clean enough

The room was clean, but up some steep stairs. There was no parking space in front of my room, only for the room downstairs. The usual extras such as biscuits to have with tea or coffee, & bags for sanitary items in the bathroom were not evident.

The sphinx look at the front was good

Rooms were extremely warm due to the room facing the afternoon sun. Aircon bately worked efficiently for the room size. Went and bought a fan from Myers store so we could sleep comfortably. Had bistro meals were great and plentiful for dinners. Had issue when wife and daughter walked back to room and were stopped and told to walk around in the excessive heat that evening by stsff. Unacceptable. They were not stopping in the gaming area, just walking through to access the room. Daughter was 13, accompanied by wife and just walking through... If this is an issue, then doors should be closed off and or monitored by security or staff. Had we known this was a problem then we would of left and asked for refund on first night. Such an inconvenience and in hot temperatures was not liked. Albeit another direct route to the rooms must be provided without accessing the gaming area. This could be a big issue if a family with young childres are staying, or in event of bad weather

Great location and dining experience was really good and playground was amazing for our 4 year old. Down falls is the pool was super dirty and didn’t want our son going in there and I think it’s alittle over priced for what it is just a real basic room and bathroom was falling apart but it did the job.

relatively expensive, room to be expected, but overall a little uncared for and a little dusty/dirty utensils/glasses.

Fascinating hotel. Great food and service. Very convenient for shops, restaurants and the Spirit of Tasmania terminal.

Did not have a towel and no way of filling up kettle which needs replacing due to being dirty.

Liked atmosphere meals and the shows Staff were excellent
