On arrival we were given a room that had not be serviced. New room was clean and A/C worked well. However there was no teatowel and the bed frame was broken. On wanting to leave early the next morning, the electronic key would not open exit gate and I had to find my way out through a staff service gate and get my vehicle out via the entrance gate. This would work with the electronic pass key.

Very clean unit with hotel across the driveway. Friendly staff. Nice meals at the hotel

I booked what was advertised as a hotel room at the Spinifex

Our room was quite new and spacious with a washing machine as well as a kitchenette, lounge and outdoor private balcony. The restaurant meal was also good. We would stay again.

Convenient secure parking within a gated perimeter of the whole complex. The adjoining pub was great for dinner and even a bottle shop located on the premises. The rooms were excellent too. Highly recommended!

You get what you pay for. The rooms are small but full self contained and adequate for a single.

Floor carpet was not clean. and the bedding did feel too old.

The lady at reception was nice but some of the other staff were quite rude and condescending. There is also a motion sensor in the room that turns off the aircond if it doesn't detect any movement after a while, this is ridiculous as it is very hot in Derby and for the price of the rooms it should be a given that they are always cool. The pool was also out of service due to a possible contamination but there was not enough notice or information provided to us or other guests. The rooms while clean need maintenance, example changing door handles chipped paint updating linen not using the backup room blanket. There should be appropriate linen on the beds. (the linen you see in the photos is not the linen you get. also the balcony door is not very secure potentially could be left unlocked and given the high crime rate of the area is a huge risk. Unfortunately, there are not many other accommodation options in the town so the hotel is able to charge ridiculous prices that does not have the service or quality standards to match. This also means quests will continue to stay there. It would be nice to stay there for once and not have any issues. I feel for the Manager as many of these things are fixable but seems the Owners don't care so doubt anything will change.

We stayed in the motel Queen room and it was very spacious and luxurious. Beautiful outlook over the mud flats and very clean. Food at the pub was pricey but delicious and the buffet breakfast on Sunday morning was spot on. Great pool area, not much shade unfortunately. Very secure parking and great spot in town

Staff was pleasant and laid back

Right in the centre of town. Clean room and good cool aircon. Nice and quiet. Stayed on a Saturday night and the place was near on empty.

Towels and sheets need to be replaced as shabby. Make sure you wash everything before you use it as not clean. Car park is secure which is important.

This property appears to be quite new. Car park felt as safe as possible, located in a central, gated car park requiring fob to both enter and exit. Nice vibe around the rooms. Room quite large with kitchenette - cooktop and microwave plus fortunate to have a washing machine. Easy to self-cater. Bed comfy and shower good. Small pool looked inviting.

Cleaners need to buy a mop to clean the floor and wipe the walls

Spinifex are making an effort for comfortable stays in a difficult environment - service was great
