If you’re planning to visit Melk Abbey, be aware that Hotel Donauhof is not within walking distance—you’ll need to take a taxi, which costs about €16 each way. Alternatively, there's a bus that runs only once per hour. The hotel provides no in-room amenities—not even, tea or bottled water—and there is no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable in the warmer months after June. There are no activity area around the hotel, with no restaurants nearby except the hotel’s own. During our stay, the elevator was out of order, and we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs. If you're visiting Melk Abbey, I would recommend staying in Melk itself. You'll find similar or lower prices, access to a charming small town, and several dining options within walking distance.

An excellent family-run hotel on the banks of the Dnube. Very good breakfast. Nice restaurant. We upgraded to a large room with a balcony and a full view of the Danube for only 15€ per night.

The hotel is cute. The location is awesome and it's pet friendly. I was surprised that there was no air conditioner or fan that was the only thing off for me since I woke up in a pull of sweat 😂.

Das Bett war für mich zu weich. Im Bett selber war eine Massage verbaut, was wiederum gut war. Aber die Matratze war trotzdem zu weich.

Hotelaufenthalt war gut. Allerdings war das Abendessen im Hotel ein Totalausfall....schade!

The location is great, The service is top and their bike renting facility is affordable and very convenient as you can get in and out freely and choose from a large variety of bicycles

Hotel is a traditional classic Austrian hotel. With a lot of wood inside. Despite that the rooms are modern and I find them very practical. I really like that you get music in the bathroom. Is matching perfect with the big cabin shower Breakfast is good and it I like that they serve honey in honeycombs Manny people came to have dinner at the nice terrace

Hier gibt es nichts auszusetzen, alles tip top, komme gerne wieder. Das einzige wäre, man sollte die Zimmertemperatur selbst bestimmen können, ansonsten ein super Hotel

Direkt an der Donau neben Hauptstraße ruhige Zimmer Essen sehr gut genügend Parkplätze

Die Lage des Hotels ist super . Stift Melk ist in wenigen Autominuten zu erreichen. Das Personal ist freundlich und das Essen ist gut .

Für ein Zwischenstopp war sehr praktisch,innerhalb paar Minuten ist man auf der Autobahn.

Insgesamt ein schönes Hotel, gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Chefin etwas unfreundlich, was der Oberkellner mit seiner freundlich-lustigen Art aber wieder ausgeglichen hat. Zimmer sauber, ruhig und gut verdunkelbar. Massagefunktion der Betten großartig! Einziges Manko: Am Nachmittag, als alle bei Regenanbruch nach Hause kamen und duschten, wechselte das Wasser immer zwischen kalt und heiß. Das sollte bei einem 4-Sterne-Betrieb wirklich nicht vorkommen! Das Problem trat am nächsten Vormittag nicht mehr auf. Das hauseigene Restaurant ist zu empfehlen; am Abend kommen auch externe Gäste zum Essen in den schönen Gastgarten.

Ein Hotel wo irgendjemand mitdenkt bzw. Ideen hat. Matratze mit Massagefunktion, meine Frau war begeistert. Toilette mit Bewegungsmelder im Zimmer... kein Schaltersuchen im Dunklen wenn man in der Nacht aufsteht... I like it!!!!

Nice property across the river from the Melk Abbey. Comfortable bed and spacious room. The bathtub was hard to get into because of the weird design. Breakfast was not impressive.

Het was op doorreis, weinig genoten van de omgeving, lijks een goede plaats voor een fietsvakantie langs de Donau

Très bien, calme, nous avions demandé des chambres côté cour (attention, peut être plus bruyant côté route mais avec vue sur le Danube). Prix des petits déjeuners exorbitant (par rapport au prix des chambres) : nous ne les avons pas pris, même après négociation sur le prix pour les enfants.

Wonderful breakfast including freshly squeezed orange juice. At check in and as our server at supper Daniel was very helpful and considerate.

We stayed there just over night when we visited Wachau. Can't really say anything wrong or bad about it, we were satisfied with our short stay. Very decent room/bathroom, free parking... average breakfast. Not many things to do around it but if you have a car Melk is just a short ride across the Danube.
