The Great House is very near to the Ferry terminal. Good - staff friendly, pool is excellent (suggest a couple of Umbrellas and maybe sunbed cushions), comfortable bed. Not so good - fridge didnt work, shower was faulty but fixed when advised to the Reception. Had breakfast one day which tbh wasnt great, overcooked scrambled egg. As there are no snacks or food available during day/evening we went next door to Fort George hotel if we needed anything when by pool, you are definitely missing a trick not having food available. Ive stayed at Great House 3 times now and tbh this trip was probably the last, Sorry but I just need more if stayi g for a few days

The front desk person was nice. The accommodations with stairs only was really bad with our luggage, carting it up three flights of steep stairs. The smell was unbearable like an old musty, place. We ended up leaving within the hour we couldn’t stand it any longer, so we stayed at another hotel.

Large colonial room in decent location. Excellent service who helped us with dining and a tour. Star off for current construction nearby, but not the hotel’s fault

My husband and I walked from the water taxi to the Great House Inn - hot but less than 8 minutes (with our luggage), so appreciated the location. Reception was on 2nd floor, but as soon as we got there, an attendant took all our luggage up. Receptionist was awesome and SUPER helpful. Room was very spacious and clean -quaint We used the pool and upper deck facilities. We ordered take-out from the upper deck, and WIFI was spotty, so receptionist came and got us when it was ready. The only negative was that our room was directly across from the receptionist desk, so there was more noise/distractions. Our friends had a different room on a different floor and said theirs was quiet. Great WhatsApp communication. Very welcoming. Loved the quaint old colonial type rooms in this historic building -- it was charming and felt safe the entire time. We ventured out to a mini craft market, and then walked over the bridge to a supermarket. Would totally use or recommend.

Beautiful rooms!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. A larger swimming pool would have been nice. The property is well maintained with room for improvements like an updated in room refrigerator. Some pieces of the furniture showed signs of wear. Room was spacious and I would stay there again.

this is a charming place!! i loved the old world charm. Bed was comfortable and room had everything we needed. A/C and a hot shower :-)

The room was fine but the staff was so loud early in the morning, talking at reception which was right outside our room at 6:30am both mornings. The place is surrounded by construction, there was a really loud party next door till late and it would be nice if for that price the continental breakfast was complimentary or at the very least the coffee was. So not a great stop if you’re looking to relax.

Great area, be careful of construction going on in the area as more is built targeting the tourist industry. This is turnig into a fantastic location.

No ice maker. Rude staff. People out our door partying at midnight! OMH!

Its a beautiful property. No ice maker. Rude girl at front desk. Trash outside. Employees partying outside of our room at midnight. Never again!
