We had a lovely one night stay, 1st time here but did not disappoint. Large room lovely out side seating area very pretty grounds.

Great place to go .we fell in love with it and plan on going back next year.not far from everything you want.

*** travelers beware *** Stayed recently and encountered several issues that made the visit uncomfortable: • Mold on the bathroom ceiling, which staff attributed to the age of the building — but that doesn’t excuse a health concern. • Insufficient heating in the room, despite chilly weather. • spider in bathroom • When I asked to cancel the second night, I was told it wasn’t possible (no cancellations) Instead, they offered a different room • Throughout, staff interactions lacked warmth and professionalism. I didn’t feel heard or supported. I understand older properties come with quirks, but basic cleanliness, comfort, and respectful service should never be negotiable.

This hotel needs upgrade. It is very outdated, especially the breakfast area.

Clean grounds and clean room. Downside: Paying for a King Deluxe room for the fireplace and it wasn't working. As said, we called the reception and were told that it might be ''frozen'' ... 15 degrees celsius ??? Plus that it was just there for ambiance and not to heat the room. Nowing that, we would have paid for a standard room or they could have given us a credit.

I reached the resort at 9:30 pm the reception staff was not friendly.the ambience was good

This is a quaint and charming looking place in a beautiful town. The room was alright as far as cleanliness goes, although a little dated. The washroom however has not been maintained in quite some time. The paint was bubbling and falling off the ceilings and walls, the bathtub grout and caulking was full of mold and gaps. We had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, but there was no way we’d have used it based on what we saw. The shower head had a constant leak and the whole room smelt musky and damp.

We came in off-season, everything was good overall. We can see that the place used to be in better shape in a past era, but the grounds are still lovely for this price. The fridge in the room was noisy, and bathroom ventilation is needed.

Dirty. Property appearance not as advertised in photos. Plaster on walls coming off from water damage, room smelled musty, small flies, bugs in room, toilet didn't flush fridge dirty. Continental breakfast or coffee not available until after 8am. Had booked for 2 nights left after first night. Stay away from this property!!

Rooms are good but coffee machine has no outlet near by.We have to moved coffee machine to diff places

Staff was helpful when sundries, etc., were required. The Colonial is a little dated-looking and could obviously use a refreshing in many areas of the property, but the old-style, 60s-era family resort concept is actually a nice departure from the sealed up modern hotels we too often stay in. It was nice to sit in front of our room looking at the treed lot that surrounds the buildings and enjoy a beverage as evening fell. And the price was best in town for a room on the weekend we stayed.
