We found the proximity to downtown very helpful.

The staff were very friendly from check in to check out. Breakfast was excellent and the room was spacious and well kept.

My first stay. I was pleased with my first experience. Parking was easy, room was very roomy and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff provided excellent service. I'll be back.

Clean, easy parking, good location

The hotel was nice, and you could go through the tunnel to the restaurant and spa for your included breakfast. There was no microwave or fridge in the room, the king mattress has “grooves” in where people have slept so you know they are older, and the bathtub was incredibly slippery and could use one of those rubber mats.

Room was clean parking was good staff were great and breakfast was good. Would just be nice to have another gluten free option besides eggs and toast

We had a pleasant stay at Monastery Hotel. The breakfast was tasty and fresh, and the parking felt safe and convenient. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. A good choice for travelers visiting the area.

Room was spacious and clean. I loved having 3 bedside tables for 2 beds. Breakfast was good but service was slow.

Overall a good hotel for the price. Comfy bed and large room. The shower was a little bit small. It is only a 15 minute / 20 minute walk to most places downtown. Some things to note: -The only 5 guest rooms that I saw were all located outside the main building -The breakfast voucher is good for anytime of day. There are 4 options included in your stay that comes with coffee, tea, or juice. The options are: 1 egg with hashbrowns, meat, & toast; breakfast sandwhich with hashbrowns; bagel & fruit; or small bowl of granola & yogurt with fruit bowl on the side -Every night the resteraunt calls your room when they start to serve dinner -You will be told that maid/ cleaning service is only done if you ask, but they knock on your door every day around 5pm to see if you would like anything -If you use the jacuzzi tub, the automatic exhaust fan is loud and will be running the whole time. The jets were also loud -If you plan on making food in the room you can ask for a dish towel to clean dishes with -Book ahead of time if you want to use any of their spa services beacause the spots fill up quick

E everything is great. The rooms, the hotel, the staff the restaurant very very quaint like it very much

When we arrived it turned out they didn’t have our reservation from Expedia and were fully booked. This was a frustrating situation especially when it was our first stop on our vacation. The staff were quick to solve the problem and moved us to the Leaside Manor down the road where we were greeted by amazing staff that helped us settle in with ease. Big thanks to everyone that helped us from the Monastery and Leaside Manor.

Stayed overnight to catch a flight out the next day .Staff very friendly and helpful.Rooms nice and clean. Breakfast was included the next morning- which was deliciousi.No problem parking.

Very large room with fireplace, jacuzzi tub, large tv., wine in the fridge. Staff very nice. Free breakfast which is great so you don't have to rush to get outside to a Tim Horton's. Quiet at night. Free parking which not every hotel in St John's has. I would return.

Bathroom door could use replacing, it was an effort to close it securely. The self-moistening toilet cycled for nearly an hour after flushing and was quite loud. Our room came with a complementary bottle of wine corked with no bottle opener provided. We called reception for a bottle opener and it took an hour to arrive, similarly for towels. Complementary breakfast was good but also a little lacklustre, very meat and potatoes. The stay was otherwise very clean, quiet, friendly staff. A short walk to downtown.
