Unfortunately the date we were supposed to check in, we were not able to due to a severe winter storm leaving us stranded in Toronto. The motel let us check in a day later and extend our stay for a night. That is where the positives end. When we arrived we were treated kindly and asked for a $200 cash damage deposit. The place was not in a good area and was run down to say the least. A block of rooms are shut down and boarded up due to a fire. Some rooms have been turned into business including their motel office. We were brought to one room and upon bringing out stuff in and shutting the door, we realized the door does not shut all the way and in fact the lock was about as good as a bathroom door lock. We went to the office and told the man that we did not feel safe, he tried to say it was like that for airflow. My son and daughter in law backed us up and said this is not safe. We were reluctantly given another room. This room was better but that is saying a lot. The whole place is scary and unsafe. We purchased cleaning products and cleaned the room from top to bottom. We would have left if we had another option. We stayed 4 nights and everyday the guy above us was yelling all day long, repeating similar things like a record. Swearing constantly, over and over. He is clearly suffering from something. Made for an even more scary experience. I would not recommend staying here at all.
