I booked a queen size bedroom, which was the same as description and photo from the platform. It feels very vintage indeed, I felt welcome and comfortable during my stay. However, I think the main entrance should be fixed as it bangs so loud whenever someone in and out, which was very disturbing especially at late night and early morning. The other thing to be caution about is the wash basin in room, if someone next door use faucet for long time, your wash basin will fill up with water as well due to drainage problems. It happened to me one night and I need to stop next door from using the water for too long, I told Jake about this, hope they will fix this problem. Location is great, near two skytrain stations, as well as Gas Town. Very high accessibility to every attractions. However, every night at 9 or passed 9, there were always be a group of people partying hard (not sure it was homeless or drug addicts). They played music on speakers and scream sometimes, which I could not blame the hostel of course, but this is what you might concern about before booking for your stay. Overall, this hostel was not bad, but I might not stay there again.

这家酒店除了价格便宜，没有任何优点，在市中心，房子房龄没有70年，也有50年了。周边很多liu-lang-han，住了三天晚上，每晚都有liu-lang-han在外面大吼大叫，吵吵闹闹。每天晚上都被警车警笛吵醒，晚上都不敢出门，好危险。

Nice and central just could do with a overhaul in bathrooms and and a bloody good clean

Too many drug users around the area

Fun stay with my friends in Van. The best deal in the downtown area.

Quarto limpo, roupas de cama e toalhas limpas. Banheiro e área do chuveiros com limpeza deficitária.um dos banheiros ficou quebrado por quase toda semana.

Toilettes sur le palier bouchées pendant 3 jours. Une seule prise de courant par chambre. Acoustique inexistante. Moisissures dans la salle de bain. Seule l’amabilité du personnel compense un peu cet établissement limite insalubre.

If there is a maid, they aren’t cleaning any of the communal spaces. The communal showers were disgusting and I had to keep asking the front desk for more toilet paper. The beds are uncomfortable and the rooms are full of unnecessary furniture like two big dressers and desks make it impossible to move around the room. It was a budget hotel but I’ve stayed at other hostels in Vancouver that were way better maintained than this.

A localização dele é perfeita. Mas o preço que se paga não vale a pena. A limpeza não é das melhores, tudo com aparencia de velho e sujo. No fim de semana, não foram recolhidos os lixos do banheiros, nem foram limpos os box dos chuveiros. As camas são barulhentas, o colchão da cama onde dormi era maior que o estrado então ele ficava torto. A pia para lavar a louça, é a mesma para lavar as mãos de quem usa o banheiro e os chuveiros, cheguei a ver o absurdo de uma senhora lavando a calcinha nessa pia. Não vi insetos, mas as copas dos andares, estão na frente dos quartos e os lixos acumulados por lá o que provavelmente seja um ponto para atração de insetos. De favorável, além da localização, é que ele tem uma pia dentro do quarto o que serviu para escovar os dentes e lavar o rosto.

Expected more for the price

No nos gustó nada del hostal: un sitio viejo, incómodo, y sobretodo sucio y caluroso. Pocos baños para todas las habitaciones, y los muebles parecen sacados del vertedero. Mal olor al entrar y puertas que no parecen seguras. Entra la luz por la mañana y las ventanas no se pueden abrir porque sino entran pájaros. Muy mala experiencia en general.

Check in was pleasant and easy. The street outside is a bit loud but the room itself is charming and clean. Overall nice spot to stay.

The washroom and shower were dirty. Even the walls and floor have not been washed for a long time. I was wondering an old place but clean, this is not What I got.

This place was perfect! The staff was friendly and helpful, and everything was always clean and well maintained. It was a perfect hostel experience, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys hostel living!

I think this place offers the best performance for the price. Even though it’s a hostel, I stayed alone in a double room. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, this is your best bet. Plus, the people have been friendly to me so far.

Staying at the St. Claire Hostel was such a dreadful experience that I feel morally obligated to warn others. My room was at least 80°F (27°C) all night with zero air conditioning, and the whole building was a sauna. They gave me a duct-taped fan that barely worked, and I had to choose between suffocating or opening a window with no screen and letting in bugs. There were only two outlets in the room, so you get to pick between your fan and your phone. And forget sleep: the room had an interior window that opened to a hallway light that stayed on all night, making it impossible to rest. The bed was a joke. I’m 6’1” (1.85m) and literally couldn’t fit — my feet had to stick through the bars of the footboard just to lie flat. The mattress was paper-thin, the frame squeaked with every breath, and the pillows might as well be cardboard. To top it off, there were food wrappers under the dresser from the last guest, and the ceiling was literally falling apart. The shared bathrooms were the final insult. The showers reeked of cat urine, bugs crawled across the whole bathroom, and mold was growing visibly on the ceilings, windows, vents, and walls. I never once felt clean during my entire stay. This place is unhygienic, unsafe, and unacceptable. Bottom line: I don’t care how cheap it is. Sleep anywhere else. Sleep in your car. Sleep on a park bench. Just don’t stay at the St. Claire Hostel unless you want your vacation hindered.

In the center of everything!

15 minute walk to the water and the convention center. It’s a beautiful city if you can get it for under $100 a night that would be OK but due to it being during a convention it was very expensive. I did get my own sink, but had to share a toilet shower. Staff was very pleasant. I would stay there again for the right price.
