Hostal Casa Aborigen - 旅舍（音译）

Hotellet slitet, men allt funkade. Internet, aircondition, varmvatten. Det enda var att frukosten serverades efter 08.00 eller senare och att man bara fick ett bröd per gäst. Generöst med smör. Det ingick även cornflakes och mjölk. Personalen var vänlig och hjälpsam. Hotellet kändes mycket tryggt och lugnt och det låg mycket bra till mitt i Barrio Italia men på en tyst gata. En underlig sak dock var att hotellet drog hela beloppet när jag bokade. Dom ska enligt hotels inte dra några pengar på kortet förrän man har anlänt.

The surrounding area of the property was very quiet and I felt safe walking during the night to the restaurants located close to the hotel. The room was perfect for my needs, it has a private bathroom. A subway station and bus stops are at walking distance from the hostel.

Ficamos a duas primeiras noites em um quarto e depois fomos transferidos para um melhor. (isso foi avisado apenas no check in). O café da manhã era composto por pães de forma e um pão típico, café solúvel, leite, cereal, geleia, doce de leite e um frio. No segundo dia pareceu que só foi servido o que sobrou no dia anterior. No terceiro dia 7h15 o café ainda não estava arrumado (horário informado do café: das 7 às 10h). No quarto e quinto dia saímos antes do horário do café. O banheiro não possuía pano de chão e por isso alagava. A banheira não pode ser utilizada. O chuveiro do primeiro quarto demorava muito para esquentar. Os atendentes são bem solícitos. It was hard for us to review this property as one needs to remember not to demand 4-5 star standards of a clearly advertised 2 star accommodation. It is also important to note we arrived during Covid not long after the borders were open. The two guys there were brilliant, we had no Spanish and they were super helpful organising SIM cards for us and they manned the desk 24/7. The location was perfect to walk around to all the trendy cafes and bars and safe. Our room was massive with our own ensuite and thankfully we had an air conditioning unit to heat our room, an ensuite and our bed was very comfortable. The building is beautiful, but sometimes (and we would have contributed to the noise when we were arriving/leaving), noisy as people walk the timber floors with their bags on wheels. BUT don’t let this discourage you - bring your ear plugs. Overall, value for money!

The place is in a good location. Some rooms have usb ports some don’t. Take your own soap and shampoo because they don’t have it as most hostals. Good place to stay one night!!
