Beautiful views when you stay at the top guesthouse. Communication was not good and transportation is limited so pre arrange. The food is good but may close early in off season. I did see a few bugs but over all the place was clean and the air from fans and AC units helped allot

The cabin on the hill has incredible views. The property was clean, staff friendly and the restaurant great. I would definitely stay here again.

The people her are so nice and accommodating. Would stay again if just for the hospitality!

This is a lovely small family operated hotel. It is veryy comfortable and home like. The restaurant is excellent with a varied menu. It has its own beach, easily accessible right on the ocean. Very comfortable . With great wifi. And peace and quiet!

The food at the restaurant on the property is really good! We stayed in the family cabin which is up a hill with an amazing view and breeze.

I booked this hotel because of the overall rating. The owner is a good guy and the facility is clean. The three things to pay attention to are: this is far from the town connected by a terrible road with hardly any lights (get your transportation arranged), they are comparatively expensive, they close the gates pretty early.

El lugar es precioso, mi parte preferida en Costa Rica. La comida estaba muy buena, las instalaciones no son lujosas pero está todo muy limpio, es cómodo, tienen aire acondicionado, etc. La atención es inmejorable, la dueña se quedó hablando con nosotros hasta bien entrada la noche contándonos historias de su infancia en Bahia Drake, uno de los mejores momentos en todo el viaje. Recomendado 100%. The place is beautiful, my favorite part of Costa Rica. The food was very good, the facilities aren't luxurious but everything is very clean and comfortable, and they have AC. The customer service is unbeatable, the owner stayed talking to us well into the night and told us stories of growing up in Drake Bay, it was one of the highlights of our trip. 100% recommend it!

Very nice hotel, highly recommended. People that work here are very nice, hotel is at 2 min walk from the beach. Rooms are very great, clean, with air conditioning. We eat very well at the restaurante, a lot of different option always available. Very easy to book tours to go to the Parque National Corcovado.

My partner and I loved this little place! The owners welcomed us with fresh pineapple juice and were so friendly. The little restaurant at the guesthouse is also some of the best food and kindest service we had in Costa Rica- the Pina Coladas are delicious! The guesthouse is located about 10 minute away by car or 45 minutes walk from the town of Drake Bay so it is really quiet. The beach is just a quick 2 minute walk across the road and has the loveliest sunsets. Because it is a bit further from town, you'll have almost the whole beach to yourself. A couple of notes, this is a basic room but it does have AC. There is no fridge in the room so don't bring food or beer with you. There is filtered water available but the staff recommended that we not drink the water in the room. All in all, Casa Gitana is great value, would definitely recommend!

really noce and comfortable place. people is really nice, good vibe, beach in front. a little far from drake bay (45min walk) but there is taxi for 10$ ! overall super cute

A cute super well ran hotel away from town, the staff was the best we've ever had at a location. This is a family run place that makes you feel like family while you are there. The food is great! We stayed 8 days and never repeat a breakfast. The staff set up 7 different excursions with us and coordinated our pick up and drop offs. We snorkeled, went to the national park, went fishing, rode horses on a beach and even floated a jungle river. The whole vacation experience was wild. We got to see a whole different side of Costa Rica and loved it. The guides the hotel set us up with were all excellent. This was truly a vacation where we wouldn't change anything!

This place was amazing, a little uncomfortable for us because we had one of the rooms without A/C, but we grew to absolutely love it! The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and the owner clearly works incredibly hard to make sure everyone there has a good experience. Seriously could not recommend this place enough, it’s like a second home! Also, the dogs there were so friendly and entertaining!

Much like a hostel with private rooms! It was perfect for our only day. Breakfast was a bonus

Todo perfecto: habitaciones muy limpias y cuidadas, la comida riquísima, los dueños muy amables y atentos... Nos sentimos como en casa. Además con la playa enfrente casi para nosotros solos!

The owners of this property are fantastic. They are so nice and helpful. The food, which they cook themselves is amazing. I would never of thought this little place in Drake Bay would have such delicious food. The beds are comfortable and rooms always clean. It is amazing value for the price.

We had an amazing stay at Jonathan and families place. They were the most humble and welcoming people! Jonathan was very hard working and was constantly available if we needed any recommendations on where to go etc and he was also able to book an excursion for us last minute. They were always available if we needed a ride into town. Our room was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean and drake bay. There is a restaurant attached to the property and there food was amazing!! My favourite dish was the Mahi mahi :) best pina coladas in town too!! We loved the local hiking trail San Josecito- perfect combination of interior hiking with lush biodiversity and led you to the most beautiful beaches! Jonathan brought us to a local waterfall and made sure we knew exactly where we were hiking to get there and picked us up as soon as we were done (very convenient!) Can’t wait to be back to Drake Bay!

Be careful on the empty, lovely, long, local beach as a mad thief, un ladron loco, takes your things while you swim and stores them at his beach cabin! Owners Jonathan and Edith helped me to get my things returned. A friendly family homestay.
