The location and vibe was perfect for us! The room was simple, neat, clean and they honored our request for a room with the couch. The bathrooms could use an update or refresh. They are dated. The restaurant was delicious and a nice surprise in this sleepy town. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Took advantage of yoga which was great. The pools are very small but lots of lounges, hammocks, ping pong and a great lending library! Will definitely return to this sleepy but fabulous town!

Overall, our stay was pleasant, particularly regarding the room, cleanliness, and general comfort, which were all at a good standard. That said, the food and beverage services were clearly the weakest part of the experience. As a Costa Rican who has lived in the United States for many years and returned home on vacation with my wife, I must say that the quality of the coffee was surprisingly poor for a hotel in Costa Rica, a country internationally recognized for its excellent coffee. Additionally, the food did not meet expectations. The gallo pinto, in particular, was not representative of the traditional Costa Rican dish, neither in preparation nor in flavor. For visitors hoping to experience authentic local cuisine, this may be disappointing. Finally, the prices for food were quite high considering the overall quality offered. With some improvements in the culinary experience and a better focus on local authenticity, this hotel could significantly enhance the value of its services.

Friendly staff, clean and cool room, a little oasis with some shade and sun at the pool. Every meal at the restaurant was delicious… lots of options if you want to eat healthy and embrace Pura Vida vibe or indulge in a great burger. Cocktails were excellent! Also just steps away from the beach!

Older property, but well maintained. Smaller hotel, two nice pool areas, helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at the rip Jack in. We were a family of two adults, two children ages, 10 and 12 and one senior. The location could not have been better. It was right beside the beach. There were lots of restaurants nearby, and the hotel restaurant was excellent. Only downsides were that breakfast was not included, there were a few towels provided, and there was no body lotion. There were several ants in the bathroom, but that is probably unavoidable given the location. The staff was very, very helpful and accommodating. The pools were small, but perfect. Our children loved seeing the iguanas and lizards on the property and really enjoyed the ping-pong table.

Great location nice clean place

We had a great stay at Rip Jack Inn and wish we could have stayed longer than one night. We stayed in a bungalow with our family of 5 and it was very comfortable and had a private tropical feel. The food at the resort was delicious but expensive. My kids had a great time surfing in the area.

Stones throw away from the best beach for bodysurfing. Great food at the restaurant as well.

The RipJack Inn is our go-to place to stay in the Playa Grande area. The rooms are clean, spacious with hot water and cool air conditioning. The restaurant/bar area has a fabulous happy hour with tasty food and refreshing beverages. You are a minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Costa Rica. Monkeys and exotic birds are plentiful on the property. We have stayed on this property on several occasions and will continue to due so in the future.
