Cute room in a converted turn-of-the-century home. The owner is sweet and staff are on hand to make breakfast for you between 6:30 and 9:00 am (you just need to tell them when you will be awake). We were able to arrange for transport to and from the hotel. Nice decorative touches throughout the home and a lovely garden. Small downsides: 1. The room we were in had stains on the carpet and mildew in the shower -- both things that can be fixed, and weren't overwhelming negative factors. 2. I was asked multiple times to settle the bill -- upon arrival, the morning after arrival, the afternoon after arrival, the morning of departure. Each time I asked if now or later would be fine, and was told "whenever is fine!" but then asked again. It would be more reasonable to either request payment upfront (at the time of reservation) or else at the time of departure -- or else let guests making reservations know that payment is due at check-in. I settled the bill twice because of additional transport costs incurred, once in cash because the credit card machine was nonfunctional. Overall, a nice restful stay in the middle of a busy, active part of Quito. The hot water bottles at bedtime were a nice touch!

the entire property is unique. It is filled with art and each room is beautiful. Gabrielle, the owner, provides a wonderful breakfast every day. Her staff could not be more attentive or helpful

City Art Hotel is within a 15 min. walk to the craft market and park, and right in the heart of the hip restaurants, although it is on a quiet street. The owner made us feel very welcome, organizing a charming birthday pudding and helping us get a ride to the airport. The rooms are elegant and the beds are very comfortable. Although there is no elevator, the staff are very helpful. The breakfast, in an atrium overlooking the neighborhood, was beautifully laid out and delicious.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean. But if you are always cold like me, the hotel doesn't have heat. Quito nights are cold. I moved to another hotel.

Great area and very nice hotel. Friendlt staff were very helpful in arranging rides to and from Airport. Area, unlike many parts of Quito, is safe to walk to restaurants and bars. However, it was a little loud at night because of proximity to nightlife. We felt so cozy in our comfortable room though, especially with the hot water bottles they brought us to put into bed with us. Would recommend!

Great place, great location and helpful friendly staff. My only caveat is, if you are traveling in March, it can get cold (we were) and there are no western style heating/heaters in the rooms. They did give us a small area heater, but the room was cold. I know this is a Quito issue in March. It actually reminded me of Jerusalem in the winter (for anyone who knows this). I would stay here again though

Hotel is in good location, but room was cramped, no refrigerator in room, water never got hot for shower, bed was mediocre. Had to wait for 5 minutes at times to be let in and out of security gate. Under staffed as the same person operating security gate also was house cleaning and could not hear buzzer for gate while he was vacuuming on 2nd and 3rd floors. Needs to improve on these issues.

Huge room at the top floor, great bathroom, quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast is great. And the staff simply perfect, always helping with every need. Fully recommended

This hotel deserves the top rating in all aspects. Service was astounding, too!

This hotel has the feel of an elegant vintage home. Our room was large and comfortable with a canopy bed, high ceilings, sitting area and good sized bathroom.The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is in the Mariscal area which is busy with nightlife - though the hotel is like a quiet oasis. The rest of the city of Quito is accessible by foot or cheap cab ride. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice and "old-school" hotel with beautiful rooms. The service is exceptional and the staff is very friendly. Only two blocks from Plaza Foch. Shopping in walking distance and the old town a 5 minute cab ride away. Would definitely reccomend this hotel!

Staffs are really friendly. The location is close to restrants and bars. However, its facilities are a little bit old, and hot water for shower and Wifi were the problems. Their breakfast was also disappointed.

O Hotel City Art Silberstein surpreende por sua requintada decoração antiga. O atendimento personalizado e atencioso da equipe é nota 10. O café da manhã precisa melhor bastante. As instalações hidráulicas e a pintura externa do casarão demandam manutenção.

Don't expect the services of a five star hotel. This is a really comfy and nice looking boutique hotel.
