The towels and bed linen seemed unwashed, the breakfast didn’t exist, the lovely rooftop shown in the pictures was “private” and hence not available. The hairdryer didn’t work. Overall, the impression of the hotel shown in the pictures did not deliver and I have a hard time understanding the high score this hotel receives.

Fernando and Gustavo were amazing hosts, not only did we get a warm welcome, they shared city tips, recommendations, history and traditional food places. By far they exceeded our expectations.

The room was basic and simple but met our needs. It was rather noisy at night, hearing echos in the lobby and street noise from nearby parties. The owner was very friendly and offered to help us make plans and arrangements around Quito. We didn’t need his assistance but he always wanted to stop and chat. He did sometimes lock the front door of the hotel which he said was for safety but was sometimes inconvenient as we could not get in ourselves. They let us keep our room for a very late check out, which was very generous!

Control excesivo de acceso en las salidas y entradas. No me sentia libre de salir libremente en las noches. Tenia que esperar que abrieran la puerta luego de las 10:00 y percibia molestia en el empleado luego al tener que levantarse para abrir.

It's a small property but has a lot of charm. The manager is very accommodating friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed all of it. Would have liked access to WIFI and english speakimg staff, but i would definately recommend and stay here again. No real complaints. Great job!

The Gran Mariscal is a small property and therefore somewhat lacking in amenities, my only complaint. The location is only two blocks from the bars and restaurants of Plaza Foch. The premises were immaculate, and the staff was wonderful despite having only one very kind lady with a rudimentary grasp of English. Everyone was eager to please and we were treated like royalty.

So far so good. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Friendly staff.

The hotel is clean and staff is nice but located near plaza foch which has prostitutes and not decent people.

For an older hotel it was maintained very nice. The hotel is close to a bar / nightclub. Music could be heard until late night.

Hotel con un precio algo elevado en cuanto relación calidad precio,es un hotel sencillo,nuevo,y el personal muy atento,mención especial,para el sr juan Fernando, siempre tratando de agradar. Algo que no me gustó es que las toallas estando mojadas ,no te las cambian,y las tienes que solicitar. La zona por la noche es horrible,da un poquito de miedo.

A nice hotel in the Mariscal section of Quito, the owner/manger Fernando and his team went out of their way to be accommodating, responsive and helpful. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere from the hotel staff defines this hotel, and makes it worth booking for a stay in Quito

I really appreciate the early check in, allowed by the Manager. I like when a client call the management, explain the situation, and the Management give a prompt solution. This is called "Customer Service, Customer satisfaction". The new time I go to Quito, I won't hesitate to stay again in this Hotel. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay, we didn’t check out the gym but it exists. Fernando was really helpful and helped us plan the rest of our Ecuador trip.

Utrolig god service og rene rom. Mange gode restauranter i nærheten. Hjelpsomt personale og komfortable senger.

The owner is a gem and couldn’t have been more Helpful. Rooms at the front are noisy though. The area is perfect for exploring Quito.
