Lovely b&b. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless with a very comfy bed and pristine linen. Fresh milk and cold water in a fridge in the bedroom with a well stocked drinks tray refreshed daily. Breakfast was fresh and beautifully cooked with a good choice of cereal and fruit on offer, great coffee. Both Julia and Iain were knowledgeable about the area and happy to recommend activities places of interest and best places to eat. We would happily recommend a visit.
We regularly travel to Devon to visit family and have stayed in many hotels and guest houses over the years — but Blue Waters Lodge has truly been the best experience we’ve had.
From the moment we arrived, we received such a warm and genuine welcome. The hospitality here is second to none — nothing was too much trouble, and the hosts made us feel completely at home. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests.
The room was immaculate and beautifully presented, with thoughtful little touches that made such a difference — from the cozy decor to the attention to detail that you just don’t find everywhere. Everything felt calm, comfortable, and just right.
Breakfast was a real highlight — freshly cooked, delicious, and served with a smile. It set us up perfectly each day.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, welcoming place to stay in Devon, I honestly couldn’t recommend Blue Waters Lodge more highly. We’ll definitely be back for our next visit — it’s now our go-to place when staying in the area.
What to say really, nice and welcoming, rooms are nice and presentable, good to have thing planned as they do go into the rooms to clean and so on, little mini fridges in rooms with chilled water and a small milk, kettle with tea and coffee and so on. Nice throwback to the days of B&B, Breakfast is more filling than you think, dining room is also the bar, not that we used it but looked quaint enough. Food is cooked fresh that morning and do try to accomodate most requests. The biggest issue, especially when travelling is parking, as there's no parking. Its located on possibly the last free to park area in Paignton so fills up quickly, paid spaces down the road however and isnt overly expensive to park for the day if you can get a space. If you can plan activities over not using a vehicle and can leave it parked then ideal!
