The taps for hot and cold water did not work properly. Sometimes it is very hot and sometimes very cold. There was always no one at the reception. Although the workers in the lodge were very helpful, we needed to look for them. We also discovered that the clean towels were left on the floor for changing the dirty ones. In fact, the bedsheets and blankets would not be changed except that you asked them to do so. The beds were too old that they were too soft. I think the cleaners only tidied up the blankets as the cups were left without cleaning and the bedsheets were left exactly like the way we woke up. Although there was no lift, the workers were very helpful to take all the luggage. The lodge is very close to the Loughborough Grammar School so it is a good accommodation to take children to school. It took about a 10-minute walk to go to the town centre but there are a supermarket nearby and a stall selling delicious fish and chips. The environment is quiet as it is like living in the rural area. Make sure you bring the keys out as there is always no one at the recetion. When we arrived there, we rang the bell for about 4 minutes and then the receptionist appeared and opened the door for us. The so-called doubled bed; in fact, it is two twin beds. So we found the bed uncomfortable. There is one advantage that the television could be swinged to make everyone to watch clearly. It was lucky that we were on the first floor as there was no lift. We did not have breakfast there.

Big room.

This stay corrosponded with a 50th birthday we were invited to, and chose this accomodation as it was fairly close! We arrived, and no one answered the door, I then phoned, a very polite helpful gentleman let us in, and apologised profusely for not hearing the bell. I was upset at first, that my sister was on the ground floor, and I was on the top floor, but the gentleman carried up my case, I am 67 my sister 75! However both rooms were in very good condition extremely clean, and as I said to the gentleman on checkout, I was thrilled to be in a penthouse suite, but I find the stairs difficult now! The gentleman, sorry I dont know his name, again apologised for me being up the top, but I said it was fine, I also realised that I had stayed at this guest house before, it was at least 15 years ago! Ha! Ha! The only criticism I can say, I found the room chilly, there was a radiator, and also an added electric one, but I think it is possible the double glazing might need to be replaced, and in the shower room, the windows need a decorate. Apart from that great! The TV was a smart one, so I must admit it was a bit lost on me, but I managed to watch what I needed! Excellent couple of days. Thankyou

A warm and comfortable guest house, the staff were welcoming and helpful. A perfect place for my overnight stay in Loughborough.

Good location, good parking, comfortable bed and excellent cooked breakfast.

room large but very sparsely furnished. A chair to sit on, at least, would have been nice. No toiletries, just handwash from Tescos. Shower OK but took me a while to work out how to adjust it

The room is old, the toilet is new but was not clean. The mattress is very uncomfortable and the noise of the road comes straight to the room where I was.

Basic & dated decor, room a bit cold but clean - not convinced sheets were fresh on the beds. Showers dreadful -

The hosts were very good but room service happened once in a week so towels were damp as heating was intermittent and cold in room. No signal for tv so had 2 channels for the week. Plus points, small bar, good hosts, good parking.

Very uncomfortable bed and pillows, door handle was broken, radiator valve was broken, bathroom was so tiny with a bi fold door that met with the sink as so small and you couldn’t even close as it was too big for the frame which is not ideal when sharing a room! If you are a little overweight even you could not use this bathroom..The wardrobe was hard to access as it opened over the dresser that had the tea tray and tv on so not really useable! Also Most of the milk cartons were soured.. It was advertised on their site as bed & breakfast and ticked with available along with WiFi, and parking so it seemed it was a part of the package... It’s not so don’t be fooled like us! The diner and lounge look good as in an updated extension but the rooms are old and dated & you can smell the food being cooked in the room!

Very comfortable bed and room. En suite very good and staff very obliging and friendly.

The hotel is situated just off a busy road and a little bit noisy, although I had no trouble sleeping. The room itself was big and had a large double bed, however the bathroom is very small. There was no plug in the sink and a broken handle on a drawer. The room was cold as the central heating wasn't on all the time.

Located close to centre. Spacious rooms. Free parking. Comfy bed.

Great price and really helped that it was pet-friendly, good that the room was separate to the hotel for the dog

The hotel was very clean, good size room with a large bed. Easy to find with a decent car parking area, would recommend.
