Fairly good, the receptionist didn’t introduce the hotel facilities to me when I checked in. No cleaning service during two days.

The staff was very welcoming . Top stars for him .... The room was fantastic .. good view.. Light and airy ... You can see that they take goid care with the cleaning .. top stars to the vleaners also Would most definitely highly recommend if in the area .. Only one night i stayed But definitely next time a bit longer

One person on the desk. Nightmare to check in. Takes forever. Building works ongoing. The rooms are from the 1950's. Absolutely shocking hotel.

Love it stay there every year

It was my first stay at this hotel and I wasn’t impressed on entering the room bathroom was dirty and I saw bites on carpet as if staff not vacuuming the room

Unfortunately, the hotel has gone down over the last few years. The decor is outdated, the curtains, carpet and headboard had stains on them. We paid for an upgrade to a club room, but when we got to the room, it was quickly apparent that it was not a club room as most of the extras were missing. We were given another room when we complained, but the only view we had for 2 nights was of the carpark. When we left the door hanger on asking for a refresh, all we got was towels, the tea and coffee and water (we were in the middle of a heatwave) was not refreshed, so we had nothing to drink on the 2nd day of the stay. We decided to have a meal in the restaurant on the second evening. When we went down, we were told it was the bar menu only. After ordering and paying, we sat at our table and I put my hand on the banister. When I took it off, I was covered in dust. We then noticed that most things were covered in dust. Really bad in a restaurant. The starters were great, and my main was great, however my wifes fish was totally overwhelmed with greasy batter and tasted slightly off, and her chips were overcooked, so we sent it back and we were offered a replacement, but she didn't feel like she could eat anything else from there. So that was a waste of money. The staff in the hotel are great, and friendly. I have never written a review before, but felt it important for others to see. The hotel needs major updating and deep cleaning. Sorry, we will not be going back again.

Comfortable , clean , good location and friendly staff only downfall now you have to pay for car parking

All was good, except there was no Air Conditioning, therefore the Hotel Room & Breakfast area, was very warm & a bit stuffy!!

Really clean and well kept hotel. Lovely big room, decent shower and a comfy bed. Tea and coffee in the room. Happy that the bar was still open on our return from the event we attended.

Good location, excellent service only downfall was cleanliness of the room, little bit dusty and old piece of chocolate under the bed.

This was the hottest day of the year so far, but on going to the room in the evening discovered that with no air con, the window did not open. After I was told that nothing could be done and the hotel was i was offered a cold drink! After a conversation a new room was found. When I booked. I pre booked breakfast with comment added that 1 person was gluten free. I also checked with reception on check-in. Ongoing to breakfast we asked for some gluten free bread for toast but was told have not got any!! Offered a roll but no good for toast. Secondly I asked to see the allergy book for gluten free products, no one could provide details of products that contain gluten. I raised my frustration with the service but was just told not are fault. Then all the staff stood around discussing and looking at us making us feel uncomfortable. This was so bad that when I got my breakfast the fried eggs were more like hard boiled eggs and I dare not ask for any freshly cooked. We just got out as fast as we could. Was not even asked how are stay was on checking out.

We stayed as part of a spa day to extend our break. Staff at reception were extremely friendly and informative. We didn’t eat in the hotel but used the bar and sat in the outdoor area which was lovely. Rooms were spacious and clean and 12pm check out was fab and relaxing. Will return in the future

Fantastic hotel In the restaurant their was an excellent menu including burgers, pizzas, selection of stakes, curry’s I opted for a chicken balti which was presented on silver platter, very tasty. The menu was very well priced, £21 for a ribeye, £17 for curry

We had a fantastic experience at the Copthorne Merry Hill. Our room was very comfortable with a waterside view and I was delighted to find the en-suite had a bath. The room had Tea and coffee making facilities + biscuits and a fridge containing water and 2 little bars of chocolate; delightful. The staff were really kind, efficient and helpful. Breakfast (buffet style hot and continental) was delicious with continual restocking by staff. We sat outside to eat this morning. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was beautifully cooked and presented.
