We went for a wedding and reception and the food and staff were lovely. Very attentive

Very nice hotel, friendly staff. Close to Vodafone HQ where I was working and Newbury town centre for restaurants. Room was spacious and comfortable, great bed.

Very warm welcome from reception, room spacious and clean. Restaurant really focused on delivering good service. Dont be shy to let more personality come through via chat and smiles while in the restaurant, food fab quality. Breakfast good, eggs cooked well and quickly. Will most definitely return as value for money is great.

Needs a refurb on the rooms by updating No uk plug socket by bed (round pin)!! No usb ports for charging Need dredging and brightening up. Walk in shower preferred A/c did not work at all, pumped warm air out at the lowest 16 degrees obviously faulty. Bed too soft, take a leaf out of premier inn beds by far more superior

Staff are very polite and helpful, and the restaurant and outside bar area do nice food and great cocktails. EV charging spaces is also a bonus.

Pleasant hotel, not on main road, has maintained its standards

We had a suite and the size was excellent but the windows in both rooms were too small to let enough natural light in. Reception were great, the spa was excellent with plenty of beds round the pool. Breakfast was good apart from the fruit.

Room was in very good condition. The restaurant food was excellent.

Amazing hotel and spa but disappointed on checking out when i was charged £20 for using the spa. Apparently 3rd party sites charge £20. So i spent £130 on the room, £200 in the spa, £20 for early check-in and then an extra £20 because Hotels.com aant their cut. Pretty poor really

The hotel was first opened in the early 1990s and it is now a bit tired. On this basis, we felt it was a bit over priced for what you get. Having said that it was clean and the onsite bar and restaurant was very convenient. Dinner was good, but the buffet breakfast was a disappointment.

Not as we had hoped unfortunately. We drove 3.5 hours to come and visit Highclere Castle for my partner’s birthday treat. I read the reviews and thought it would be great place stay. Starting on arrival we were informed that to swim would be an extra £20 for us both, not something we have experienced before with hotels with pools, so didn't think to check terms and conditions before booking, and for £210 per night excluding breakfast, a reasonable person would have expected this would be included, out of annoyance we didn't use the swimming pool, but still had it added to the bill, although it was removed when asked. The main frustration however was the fire alarm going off at 0615 from a smoke alarm set off from steam in another room, which left us tired for the day at Highclere, so not a restful time away unfortunately. On the plus, the staff were all friendly and professional, and breakfast was good.

Staff very friendly and welcoming, room well equipped, clean and quiet. Food from the restaurant was excellent as was the service. Highly recommended

Considering the price paid it really lacked on basics. Check in was good and staff friendly however that all fell down when I entered the room. The tv turned on however no picture just sound. The light switches did not work by the bed. The floor needed a bit more cleaning due to having yellow carpets clearly for a long time. The bathroom was big and clean however the shower over bath was hanging off. Towels were fluffy. Mattress quality super soft and not in a good way you just sunk into it and I’m not a heavy set person. I must say minus the room the food quality was exceptional. I went for the salmon and it was glorious. The wine choice again very good. I also could not fault the breakfast. Great quality. I would stay again hopefully in a better quality room with things that work. If that does not work then I will come back for the food.
