Very clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good access to the main shopping areas.

If you want a cold room with no eorking heater at high prices, this is the hotel for you. I've left a more detailed review on trip advisor. To cut it short, room number 2 is right be the high street so no need for a alarm clock, the window is ancient so its freezing cold plus no working heater. The only reason we came to this hotel was for its spa facilities which isnt even available for whatever reason. I got charged £10 a day to use car park. Premier inn at half the price makes this look like a 1 star. What a rip off

Lovely place to stay. I just wish you could get a packet of crisps with your G and T in the bar!

Room was clean as was bathroom and public areas.But it’s looking tired throughout the hotel and a little shabby.Breakfast was excellent

Clean room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, quiet room, friendly and helpful staff, car parking, excellent location.

Character hotel but a bit of a warren. Good location and bar. Car parking was £10 but they allowed me to stay for a more hours after I checked out, but a parking space is not guaranteed. If you have mobility issues some of the rooms may not be for you. Comfortable bed.

Room small but amazing , bathroom roomy , bed so comfy , bar area welcoming & modern . Reception staff excellent . Location great . Parking easy . Bath rail too hot & close . Lift door abit wonky .

This is a really lovely hotel. Really well kept, and friendly staff. I will definitely be staying here again when in the area. It felt very exclusive, without being over the top. Very nice.

Lovely historic hotel. Great staff and amazing restaurant! We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Both were delicious!

Great location, great staff what’s not to like

The location was ideal for the local shops and restaurants all within walking distance as well as interesting activities within walking distance. Good choice of breakfast and had an evening meal at the restaurant and it also had a good choice

A good stay as usual. Nice friendly staff. Right in the centre of town so very convenient for what I had to do.

Staff were amazing and very helpful. Food was excellent and beautifully served. Our original superior bedroom was dark and looked out on a tiny grubby concrete area with an air conditioning unit. They changed it immediately and the next room was very good. Bathroom fans very noisy at night. Bar lounge furniture was very stained and some of it torn. I didn't really want to sit on it. The staff made the hotel with their enthusiasm and helpfulness.

Fabulous beds, very friendly and knowledgeable staff (they gave good advice on places to eat). Only downside was the view from our room (29) which faced scaffolding and roof repairs. Thankfully no work was taking place during our stay and we could close the blind to obscure the view.

This historic hotel was right in the middle of town perfect to pub crawl or thrift shopping. The park is located right behind the property. It was a personification of an old English Stay!
