The hotel room is nice, clean and tidy. Staffs are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great. I had a wonderful stay.

Great location, excellent modern room, kind and helpful staff and top tier breakfast!

Our 4th stay here and, as ever, the staff were excellent, the room spacious and with everything we could need (and more). Particularly we’ve always felt the bed is extremely comfortable! Close to the centre and the university so great for visiting the city and especially if you’re visiting someone at the university.

Positives - fantastic breakfast, very helpful staff Lovely suite… Negatives - £250 security deposit that I didn’t know about so I didn’t plan for. But it’s fine. Was refunded at check out. The hot water in my shower wasn’t hot at all. Lukewarm at the best. Worst thing about the whole hotel experience

The customer service at the front desk was amazing and available 24/7. The breakfast had various options as well.

The reason for my stay was because I was running the marathon the following day. After a long day of travelling, I arrived at 5 pm to find a long check-in queue, which was expected since it was marathon weekend. Thankfully, I wasn't standing in the queue for long. When it was my turn to check in, I was told that I was upgraded to a Suite (I didn't quite catch that I was upgraded at the time and realised what was said later on), and because I was running the marathon, they were able to offer me an extended check-out for free (this was because of my start time). Two bonuses before entering my room. The process of checking in was swift and flawless. After I got my key, I headed to my room (thinking I was going to the Studio room I booked). I opened the door and was surprised to see a Suite. The room was magnificent and spacious. It was extremely clean, so much so that when I walked without any socks on, there was no dirt on the bottom of my feet. The bed was super comfy. The view of the city was stunning. It had everything you possibly need for a relaxing night before a marathon. The only annoying thing was that I could not connect my phone to the TV, but I didn't bother to ask reception to sort it out, as I couldn't be bothered, so that's my fault. Unfortunately, I was too slow to take advantage of the extended check-out, but after the run, they kindly allowed me to use a room to shower in. 10/10 would recommend to anyone staying in the city of Manchester.

TRUE AFFORDABLE LUXURY but nightmare check-in The room (a suite really) was huge and the kitchen facilities and bathroom (with bath!) outstanding. Two huge televisions a very luxurious bed. My only problem was at CHECK-IN. I paid for 4 nights but after a major operation my wife was unable to come so I stayed only two. I wrote a letter to the hotel (no email address on the hotel website) and got a nice email reply saying that when I arrived I would be already checked in whatever time I arrived. When I got there after 3-hour train journey and a bus, the receptionist said she had no record of my booking at all. I had to turn on my tablet to search for the booking made nearly a year in advance. The expedia booking number did the trick, but I felt this experience was totally unprofessional for a major hotel and no apology was given. Then on checkout they tried to charge me the tourist tax for 4 nights when I had stayed only two. I hope to return to this great hotel but will make several copies of my booking to prove I made it. Breakfast was outstanding: the staff could not be better and the personal service of made-to-order eggs/omelette was much appreciated.

A lovely overnight stay at this hotel. Check in was fast and simple with a really nice spacious room. Breakfast was really good and a decent variety on offer
