Very comfortable room in lovely surroundings. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

From the picture and description I was expect to be able to have a drink in the bar and lounge, also to be able to get food. Non of this was available hotel reception is an extension of the golf shop. Booked for two occupants! Only catered for one person. No house keeping available to rectify the miss cups etc. this has been woefully misinterpreted from the website. I shall not be returning. Very disappointed

1st room was incredibly cold, so switched to a 2nd room. The room is larger than most hotel rooms but suffered from maintenance issues and room was poorly maintained. I was expecting a better than average hotel room and the room didn’t match expectations. The shower was poor and missed the body due to never being descaled, one of the sinks was broken and the radiators are very poor so would avoid in winter. Holes in curtains and rips in wallpaper, this is not what I would of expected from a place of this stature.

Room was pretty large but some slight issues. Curtains weren't black out so lights outside made it quite difficult to get to sleep. Radiator was on full blast so was incredibly hot when arrived. Sheets on the bed were stained.

Very enjoyable stay for a couple of nights. Had a single bed room that was more than ample. Nice and warm, good amenities, nice hot water and good water pressure. Very friendly staff, breakfast options were great and well made. Highly recommended, I will definitely be back.

Lovely room but not easy to find arriving after dark and an absolute faff having to check in at one building to then drive to another building to find room and then have to do again in the morning

It was very difficult to find the lodge. For some reason it’s not labelled as Melbourne Lodge. If they’d have told me it is the old stables then I’d have probably found it easier. It’s also concerning how fast people were driving around in their golf carts. One guy was going so fast that he actually skidded on the driveway when he tried to turn the corner. I was walking my dog at the time so it’s very disconcerting. The bed was very comfortable. It was hard in the room though because they left the curtains open and all the heat from the sun came into the room. Fortunately, they did provide a fan. The hand tail had an undesirable hair on it, so that was a bit gross. The whole place is basically a golf course so I get the impression that their golf course is more important to them than the lodgings. The grounds are beautiful, but it’s a bit confusing as to wear you’re allowed to take your dog and what is the golf course and what is an actual footpath.

Reading some of the reviews ahead of our visit, we were a little concerned after we’d made our booking but we needn’t have been concerned! The staff we met with during our stay were very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Our room, although it looked a little tired, it was very spacious, clean and comfortable - and served its purpose for exactly what we needed (just an overnight stay whilst we visited friends in the area). Whilst some refurbishment is needed of the bedroom and bathroom, we found the cost we paid for the room reflected this, so did not feel we were overcharged for something we didn’t receive. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the area extremely quiet! We enjoyed our stay…just wish the weather had been better so we could walk around and enjoy the grounds!!
