Not worth the price unfortunately. The beds were made up nicely and comfortable but the curtains have mould at the bottom and the curtain pole isn’t secure so it fell and hurt my hand when I went close the curtains. The bathroom had empty shower gel and soap dispensers. We went out for dinner but on returning the pub door was locked as they closed early. Luckily, a member of staff was still there to let us in and then kindly informed us that there is a back entrance too which we didn’t know before. No one was around at check out time (11am) so we just left the keys in the room. Will not stay again. I have no idea how some have rated this place 10/10. I’m just glad my young children did not get hurt but I left with a lovely bruise on my hand.

Room was clean and comfortable but the dj and music until 02:30 meant stopping by in Dorchester to break our journey to make sure we were not too tired for the following day was pointless. I thought being a pub they may be open till late but that was too much.

Pet friendly and the manager very helpful. Not posh but clean and everything there tv tea coffee nice biscuits. Lots of clean white towels and bedding. No food there but a very nice weatherspoons next door and in the brewery quarter lots of various up market restaurants and bars minutes away. Beautiful park at the top of the road.

Staff lovely, but the room was above the bar and very noisey, room needed some love.

A beautiful setting with character accompanied by outstanding service from all concerned. My father said he has never been made to feel more welcome at any other establishment, he has 81 years experience on this matter. I have to agree. Would 100% stay again.

Let down by small things! I'd stay at the Old Ship again. Switched room mid-stay at venue's request, but I was okay with that. Comfortable beds and great linen. Both rooms were freshly painted and had been thoughtfully decorated.. However, neither bathroom had a shelf - awkward - and one room had only an overhead light. Extra lamp could not be provided on request. No iron was available. More seriously, my second room could only be secured from the inside, meaning the room was not secured if I went out. (A guest had gone off with the only key apparently!)

The Old Ship Inn is the perfect place to stay during our trip to Dorchester and surrounding area. It’s a gorgeous Inn tucked into a very special old pub. Our room was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. We will be coming back here for sure.

The website said check in between 15.00 and 22.30. I turned up at 21.15, the door was locked and no one answered the phone. I had to ring around other hotels and ended up paying over £180.00 extra as this was the only hotel that had a room. Do not go to this hotel as they do not honour their commitments.

Spoons were dirty, never been washed, skirting was dusty, looked like it hadnt been cleaned for weeks. I honestly didn’t feel like stopping in the room. It was most probably worst room i have stayed in for years.
