We were greeted with smiles. Quick and easy check in. Food absolutely lovely and no over the top prices. Breakfast superb. Room really lovely and spacious. Bed sooo comfortable. Slept amazing. Will be coming back when we need a little getaway. Thankyou to the lovely staff for making us so welcome

We used this just as couple of nights stop over on way to Scotland. Beautiful surroundings. Really friendly staff and great food massive portions. Decoration of rooms could be better.

We love the homley nature of the Cottage Inn. The staff are fantastic and the food is excellent. It need a little updating but that is reflected in the price. Great value for money in a superb location.

Amazing all round . We have been staying here each year for the last 6 years and never disappointed. Everything is just right ! We love it. The food is freshly cooked , good portions & delicious. The drinks are too, sensibly priced in today’s ever increasing market. The setting is idyllic and so much can be explored on foot or by local bus if not wanting to drive . We just love it here, staff friendly , beds comfy , soft fluffy towels . It’s a cottage feel as the name suggest and not the place if you are wanting gastro overpriced food and accommodation! After all you are paying for the posh wallpaper !! But if you like good honest clean and perfectly adequate accommodation with fabulous food and drink at a reasonable cost then this the the place to be! Thank you for a lovely stay as always

Beautiful gardens. Fabulous king size very comfortable bed. So peaceful and slept brilliantly.

Five men on motorbikes on annual trip. We need someone quiet and safe for the bikes, somewhere to put our gear and good ale and a meal. The Cottage Inn met our requirements perfectly. OK, it could do with a refresh but it was good value for money. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. However the cleaning left a lot to be desired! I had to request that a small pool of clear liquid with white bits,which was on the floor next to the toilet, was cleared. Also the soap dish was very dirty and the towel rail was dusty and covered in drip marks. The liquid on the floor and soap were cleaned but the towel rail wasn't. The window sill and tops in the bedroom were very dusty. My sister had to ask for scum to be cleaned in the her bath! Her shower didn't work for the whole 3 days that we stayed. She reported it on the first night but it wasn't fixed. The water in her room took ages to warm up and the last evening she gave up after 10 mins of running it. There are bad carpet stains in the corridor and several places were wallpaper is peeling. The food was ok and portion size was good.

The hotel was in a nice quiet area. The staff were excellent, food good, just what we needed after a long day cycling
