The room (castle) was great, the hotel had tons of character , food amazing and the staff could not be more helpful. We were originally going to stay in Frome then seen this hotel - we would without hesitation recommend. A fantastic find.

Lovely room at top, very spacious, extremely comfortable bed, bathroom spacious. Cooked breakfast was superb and beautifully presented. Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Weeny downside, I had already paid via Expedia, my partner didn't realise, and when checking in, whilst I was elsewhere, paid for the room. Luckily he mentioned it later, and it got sorted and refunded. Would definitely stay there again, beautiful old building, and although a pub was very quiet in our room, which was at the top.

The heating in the room didn’t work early evening so the room was freezing till late at night. The TV reception was so bad you couldn’t watch it. Staff great very friendly and the food enormous portions of really nice food.

Staff excellent, place is awesome, room good, bed comfy. Facilities all round good. My only gripe was food quality. Menu offered lots of choice but food quality i felt could be better.

The hotel was clean and staff very polite. The breakfast was very good with a range of choices. The Castle suite was beyond expectation.

This beautiful hotel was one of our most surprising finds. The welcome we got from Talia was so good. There was a small issue with our reservation, but the team got everything sorted out within five minutes. The food was some of the best pub food I've had. The puddings were utterly delicious!

History on the doorstep with the rained castle. Complete with moat. Lovely pretty small village. Not an extensive menu. Very tasty and well cooked food. Very attentive service. Seating inside and outside by the stream. We had the basic twin bedded room. Which was as the room suggests basic. Very clean and comfortable bed.

I was only at the hotel foe one night qnd arrived very late. I was helped to my room which was good because there were quite a few stairsnto the top floor. Room was a junior suite (room 10). It had a lovely modern bathroom with walk in shower and a bath. Shower was excellent. Wasn't keen on the vanity unit with a bowl sink on top. I'm only 5ft and felt my head was in the bowl. Room was spacious with a small sofa to watch TV. Lots of tea and coffe options with yummy biscuits. Very quiet because it's a small village surrounded by fields. Didn't like the bed. Mattress was not of a good standard so didn't sleep that well. Bedside lights are basically in cubby holes which form part of the wardrobes on either side. Had to unplug light on the other side of bed to plug my phone charger in. Breakfast was good but I would have preferred the toast to have arrived with it rather than me have to make it myself. Butter wasn't out with the other breqkfast stuff. Not keen on having a large urn of hot waternfor making tea; it tasted odd and don't see why they couldn't have brought me a pot. The non cooked breakfast selection was basic. Probably wouldn't stay again. Housekeeping helpful with luggage when I left.
