Very special experience to stay here although it's in the mountain. Not easy to get a cab. Food is nice cooked by handsome guy and there is a lovely puppy 🐶 . Will consider to visit again.

Always a fantastic stay at the Hawkley Inn. This time the food was particularly outstanding… decent portions and top quality. Staff friendly and helpful as always and the room 4 was perfect.

Hawkley Inn is a lovely place for a quiet peaceful stay. It is situated along a small road leading to the village. The drive to Hawkley Inn is through woods. We had a comfortable room with a separate living overlooking a field. The bathroom was clean and so was the rest of the bedroom and living room. We had dinner at the Hawkley Inn. The food was very nice, freshly cooked. The beer was local. The service was efficient. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff are brilliant and could not have been more helpful, the hotel offers all we needed. The room however looked as though it had not been cleaned properly and the tea and coffee facilities were not replaced each day, overall a good stay but could do with a few improvements

For my particular stay, it was in support of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This Inn is quite the distance from Goodwood (about 45 mins). but perhaps that’s one of the reasons why they offered reasonable rates. For that reasonable rate, you get to stay at surely one of the more charming inns around. Lya & her team clearly have a great bond and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. A charming little place that also it must be said, offers incredibly delicious food. It’s worth the trip just for the kitchen alone!

A nice stay in countryside

A lovely little pub ideally situated for walkers, cyclists and horse riders but breakfast is not served until 9am although it is advertised in the room as 8 to 10am. As like us most people holidaying for this reason want to be up early and out. We had a room for three adults but the hospitality tray was set for two people and as the room was not cleaned or beds made during our stay we only had one t bag left for the second morning.

Lieu Charmant et chaleureux, jolie vue et pleine campagne. Petit bemol : la poussiere et les toiles d araignees ! Dans les coins, sur la vmc, sur la Radio… Sinon petit dej anglais délicieux, accueil adorable et lieu convivial

Internet was good and staff very pleasant. They made me porridge & asked how I'd like it made & gave me gluten free bread toasted as requested. I was in a room directly over the bar area so was a bit noisy but was all quiet by 11pm so was able to get a good sleep. Lovely room!

Clean and comfortable rooms, with amaizing views. Very delicious food!

Overall the room was tired, particularly the sink and shower enclosure. And there were items from previous guests under the bedside table suggesting that the cleaning regime is in need of improving. We were double charged for the room which was a hassle to rectify. This diminished our experience rather. However, the evening meal was very good and staff friendly and attentive.

I spoke with the very lovely manager about this and promised to leave this feedback. I stayed here for a wedding and the person who showed me to my room did not make it clear that the door to get in when I returned was actually not at all clear- it was behind beer barrels near the kitchen and on the other side of the building to the entrance. When I got back there was nobody on the most premises and I couldn’t get in. I ended up sleeping in a random room the key worked on and luckily was vacant. The chef let me in at 7am. It really does need to be pointed out specifically!! I didn’t want to be horrible and leave one star, despite the fact it was a pretty terrible night for me- I was freezing. The manager was mortified and said she would have given me a refund if I hadn’t paid in advance. Just hope this does not happen to anyone else. The hotel was very nice and clean otherwise- had I slept in the room I booked I am sure it would have been comfortable. Another note- I was told breakfast was served between 8-9am only. That seems quite mad? Usually it would be a window like 7-10:30? One hour is a really small window and that’s quite early if you’ve been out to a wedding, for example.

Excellent accommodation and staff great choice of real ales the food was very good we had a lovely evening meal and breakfast would definitely stay here again.

Staff delightful, as ever. Characterful pleasing place. Much improved rooms. Food excellent. Room not tidied up overnight or bed made up, should’ve been. Breakfast should be available before 9am. Won’t stop me coming again however!

On arrival, we were put in the wrong room despite booking a particular room in the main building of the property. When I challenged this, I was told that the chef was staying in that room and could not be moved. When we asked for a table for food, we were told we would have to sit outside as apparently the tables were fully booked. It turned out they were not full at all. The manager was rather rude. We were moved to a suitable room the following morning after speaking to the owner. In the remaining three days our room was not cleaned appropriately and towels were not changed or bed made! This was the sixth time we have stayed, four times under the previous ownership where we had a great experience. On the two occasions we have stayed under the current ownership, the service and cleanliness has deteriorated significantly. The food menu is very limited and expensive for what you get. We really enjoyed staying here in the past and it's such a shame we won't be staying again.
