The toilet was not working properly. They did try to “fix” it, however it didn’t work and we let the staff know and it was not fixed while we were there. Otherwise it was very quaint

Rome was lovely bed comfortable location easy to find nice breakfast staff were very nice bar area with a good selection of beers a very welcoming place for a few days away

Room was clean but not in great condition, bubbling wall paper, damp issue in the bathroom and the pictures are deceiving- no head room

Room 3 and stairwell to rooms in need of an update. Room 3 is looking very tired and the bathroom old fashioned and bland. Nowhere to put toiletries not even a toilet roll holder! Bed is set under the eaves so when sitting up in bed you bang your head I’m 5ft 4”. Poorly patched hole made by door handle and a dull blue wall colouring! Though handmade shortbread was delicious. Pub restaurant and breakfast area cold so food getting cold really quickly, my steak and ale pie was served with cold mash and a few token veg, with more crust than meat! Nice breakfast choice and shakshuka cooked to order so was red hot but only one egg which I thought a bit mean given the menu says eggs (plural) baked in tomatoes etc. would I stay again - maybe not until the rooms are modernised and the pub feels warmer. Though have to say the staff were friendly enough and there was plenty of space to park the car.

This was an immaculately clean and comfortable stay. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant had a good choice and the chef clearly takes pride in his food- great quality and lots of choice. The breakfast included traditional ootions but also good quality food. We loved the location and would highly recommend the Queens for an overnight or longer stay. We also brought out dog and we were all made to feel very welcome.

Nothing bad to say. From minute we entered until the time we left. Staff very friendly, food excellent. Are a bit challenging but it is an old building.

Bed linen was clean but had stains on them, did get manager to changes them, All paint work was marked & scruffy, Bathroom window had not seen paint for very long time,I am a decorator & i would be a shamed to let someone pay to stay here. Would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Good pub, great food. Room needs a couple of maintenance fixes, but quite comfortable.

Lovely stay at the Queens. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food excellent, with a good choice of beers and wines.

Friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable. Had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, good quality items. Food at dinner was fantastic and the room we had it in was very nice. We would stay here again

Staff and facilities.

A lovely, clean place to stay. Had an evening meal which was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked proper food. Hats off to the chefs. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, but not hovering all the time. I would definitely recommend The Queens to stay and/or eat.

Lovely pub with open fire was very welcoming and food (evening meal and breakfast) was brilliant. Our room was well equipped and the bed very comfortable. Very dog friendly with bowls ready and waiting in the room if needed.

Room was dated, TV was smaller than an iPad, bathroom light didn't work mattress was softer than a dated banana. Food was great and service in the restaurant was good. Friendly staff just dated room and equipment

Really welcoming reception and friendly staff. The room was clean with good facilities and a really comfy bed! Evening meal in the bar was excellent. Full English breakfast cooked to order was also great. Highly recommend staying here.

Everything really good apart from the apalling service at breakfast. Extremely long wait and nothing ready by 0800. Eventuality got my breakfast after 0830 (and I was the first!!). Missed my first work appointment. All other residents were as equally annoyed as me with the shocking service!!

Not as good as our last visit.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Infact we are goin back next Saturday.

Lovely place in the quiet of the countryside. Nice and clean, friendly staff and great food.
