The property is very well looked after & staff are fabulous. Ellie in the morning at both breakfasts and our check in & out was great. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We ate both times at the pub, breakfast & dinner, I think the menu is too big which led to some inconsistent dishes being serviced. Breakfast first day had no toast but on the second day had toast. 2 hash browns second day but 1 first day. Little things like this don’t mean much but breakfast is the last chance of making a final impression to the guest. I had mint leaves in my tea pot the second day which meant the tea pot wasn’t cleaned correctly from last night. Was changed very quickly but it’s something that shouldn’t have happened. Dinner…. Squid second night was better than first night, less greasy and floured better. My chicken on the first night had no anchovies however on the second night my partners did. The chorizo second night was a completely didn’t dish to the first night, taste, amount and cooking of it. Everything is covered in pea shoots to, which doesn’t add anything to the dishes just increases the costs. The little details create a better more consistent dining experience for the guest.

Great place for a stopover. Lovely pub restaurant vibe, great food, and the bedrooms are very comfortable, nicely refurbished. Had a great stay!

Nice room - not enormous, but had everything I needed - hairdryer, TV, coffee making facilities, selection of pillows, comfortable bed; the bathroom again not enormous but fully equipped. Slept well. One small comment - three breakfast items with Hollandaise sauce probably at least one too many!
