Excellent! Highly recommended, food, service, location, parking, etc... perfect!
We stayed one night in the Hotel La Tour, which we enjoyed very much. Our spacious bedroom, No.1, has a lovely view over the river. The seafood restaurant is highly recommended, with an excellent house white wine (Tariquet), and breakfast was equally outstanding. The following morning we strolled into Libourne and sampled hot chocolate at Sohpie, an outstanding chocolatier in the square. The town musem and art gallery rounded off a highly enjoyable stop-over on our journey between Carcassonne and Normandy.
The hotel is on the river and they are updating the paths along it so it's going to be even nicer. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and reasonably priced. I was in the annex. Next to my room was one with twin beds - would be great for a family. They offer a breakfast buffet (at an additional cost), and it was quite good. Libourne is a nice little town, very walkable. And then you're close to a lot of fantastic vineyards. I would definitely stay here again.
