I got bad experience too cold inside, hot water is not coming, power plug point not working, staying at hotel.

The initial room that I was allocated was on the main floor; drak, dungy and smelled badly after sewage. I tried to leave the hotel after one day, but management did not approve a refund for the other four days that I had booked. Through Expedia.The pictures are not representative of the main floor rooms. Expect Indian 2 star standard. The hotel location is quite good, at the Ganges and close to Assi Ghat. There is a thing though with cleanliness and disrepair and Indian culture and standards. The very friendly Indian staff just seems to have a blind eye for dirt and broken and damaged things, even though they hang around and have lots of time to fix things, clean things, and make them look good. I guess that is more of a European and North American expectation. Very helpful and friendly staff though.

This hotel is well located but that is where the good news stops! service is terrible, rooms are spacious but not maintained well. we had to ask for soap and toilet paper (which were then given to us) and for shampoo (which was not- we were asked to buy it from nearby shops). there was a bad smell in the toilet. Kitchen was extremely dirty- one would not like to eat any breakfast after having a look there. workers do not keep good hygiene. Altogether- not a place to stay. KEEP AWAY!!

Fantastic hotel away from the noise and craziness just 10 mins walk on the banks of the Ganges to the start of the ghats. Serene surroundings very relaxing Would use again and recommend this place.

The property location, just facing Ganga is excellent and also nearness to the Assi Ghat. The only issue was its approach road from the main road, a beat clumsy, else All Well

The hotel staff were awesome and welcoming. The hotel is in a good location. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. Bathroom was cleaned thoroughly. Plenty of storage space in the room. Overall a pleasant stay overlooking the Ganga.

I am sruggling to find anything positive about this place

I highly recommend The Ganga Monestary. It is a nice easy walk along the Ganges to Assi Gaht, the southernmost of the Varanasi gahts.it is very quiet. My room had a beautiful view of the Ganges. There is a nice rooftop patio as well.

Overall our stay was good. The room was nice, the view was interesting and the location was good for experiencing the Ganges River. Our frustration was with how aggressive the staff was about optional taxi excursions. We did some of them and paid their obviously higher priced for the ease of not having to figure it out. But when we declined to pay their double rate for a ride to Bodhgaya, we were shamed and browbeaten for not using them. I know it's India and everyone is always selling, but when you want a relaxing place to chill without deflecting hustling, this went too far.

THey are at the end of thr strip, there is a lot of noise, and they need to get their WiFi figured out. But generally nice spot.

We needed a quiet hotel convenient to take a boat ride and close to BHU where our conference took place. This was well located, quiet, clean, new, with a great view of the river and a 5-10 minute walk to Assi Ghat along the river.

The staff was friendly, but my friend got really sick after eating in the hotels restaurant.

I did not realize when booking this hotel that it belongs to a certain hotel chain which I generally try to avoid, if their name is mentioned in the hotel name I will not book it, but sometimes, as in this case the hotel name gives no indication that it belongs to that chain and I end up inadvertently booking one of their hotels. The room was good enough and quite large, generally I would have been perfectly satisfied with this hotel if the cost, including tax, were about half of what it was. I think half the price would have been a fair price. That has consistently been my experience with hotels belonging to this chain, actually this is one of the better experiences I've had with that brand.
